What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Up to 9/16 for the month, 4/5 for SNC and 53/183 for the year.

Was tempted again last night, but not as much as Tuesday night and just decided not to have any once the kids had gone to bed.

I have found there are 4 drinking states for me:-

    1. Planned drinking days where I refuse to feel guilty if I drink (Fridays and Saturday) - my favourite!!

    2. Breeze through the day without even being tempted because I am “in the zone!” - almost a favourite, it's a nice feeling.

    3. Tempted to drink, but managed to resist it. Some days are harder than others - don't like these days.

    4. Days where I'm tempted and I just go, ahhh f*** it, and cave in - at the time I like this days (although less and less I must admit), but usually regret it as it means one less AFD.

Thanks for all the good wishes.:)

My fitness instructor sister uses the same statistic - it's 80% diet, is what she says about weight loss. I have no idea, however, if there is any real science behind those numbers!

Don't know about those particular statistics but an hour's road cycling or swimming uses about the calories you'd get for 8 chocolate digestives.:)

I couldn't agree more about the 'Change One Thing' HB. Habits take a good while to change too.:D

I know what you mean by s*d it days Pollyanna. fortunately I have very few of those these days. I try to stick to my planned AF days. I have leeway every month but would rather beat my target when I can.

No more AF days to report until next week but I did weight today for the first time in 9 weeks. Delighted to report I only gained half a pound.:D

Is it Op for your jack Russel today Arkers , if so sending love and hugs to you all x

Op appears to have gone well. Just waiting to hear if I can pick him up. Based on what the vet has told me it looks like we made the right decision (but early days yet). On the MSE side of things it looks like I might have a battle on with the insurance company as I forgot to inform them of a previous condition; which is not related in anyway to this one, when I changed over insurance company. I didn't realise I had to as I knew it wouldn't be insured and I have not tried claiming for this but just paid for his meds etc. These pet insurance policies aren't worth the paper they are written on especially with an older dog. With hindsight I should have taken out one of those lifetime policies, but I didn't realise what a minefield this whole area is. It looks like I'll be dipping into savings to pay. Which is fine, but not expected.

Thanks so much for asking, can't wait to get my 3 legged friend back!

    Arkers x

I've caved and had a gin and grapefruit juice this evening. I had a job interview yesterday (unsuccessful) and another today (waiting to hear but it's nearly 6pm so assume also unsuccessful), plus had a meeting with an agency today and I'm feeling pooped!

I'm going to see my son finish his RAF training tomorrow so won't drink too much as I have to get up early to drive.

So, still on 10/20 and I'm afraid I'm stuck on 4/5 for the SNC. Still, my relationship with alcohol has improved so much since I joined this thread so I'm not stressing!

Good to hear from you Arkers ,,, that’s why I stopped pet insurance,, bloody rip off !
Annie well done for ‘improving your relationship with booze’ I sort of feel the same way ,, I hope to one day be completely AF , but where I am now to a few months back is amazing,, I hardly think about a drink in the week ,, even Friday nights , before taking my coat off from getting in from I was drinking a glass of vino ,, and more and more as the night went on , yes the last 2 weekends I have drank , and probably will this weekend as off to stay at mans house , mostly he comes to me , so will make a change and give him a break from driving ,but I notice I do seem to be aware of the volume of alcohol I consume , so I can only see that as a good thing , that I’m notice it ,,,, but I’m so proud of myself to what I’ve accomplished so far ,,, I’m so glad I’m here with you all x

Arkers, glad to hear the op went well but sorry to hear about the insurance. I haven't got pet insurance either, have always assumed it is probably not worth the trouble.

maman, good to hear you had a lovely birthday :)
