back again - nearly caught up on the thread.
Well done to anyone managing to drop a few lbs - I'm rubbish at losing weight, though I am trying as my cholesterol readings aren't very clever and my father died very young of a heart attack. The tests will be repeated again in 6 months to see if 'lifestyle changes' (aka lose weight/exercise more) will make a difference. I am cutting out 'white carbs' - bread/pasta/rice/potatoes to see if that helps. Totally in awe of your efforts Shaggy - I think your essence should be bottled!
Happy belated birthday maman! Arkers, I hope your dog is well on the road to recovery. Have a very good weekend everyone - I'm away again next week - but I'll be back!
14/28; please Shaggy.0 -
I'm sure Kate Moss once claimed she was one of those lucky people who could eat anything and still stay thin. I think in her case she is a chain smoker, which probably helps??
I do think in the UK we are rather up against the climate which, like all cold North European climates, rather discourages the eating of lighter meals and salads and instead makes you inclined to eat comfort food to get you through the frequent rain and the long cold nights. Not saying this can't be overcome, but it's a factor though (well for me anyway)0 -
Forgot to say 13/21 and 1/2 for the weekend challenge.0

Declaring early as no wine in and no intention of going anywhere near a shop today. Horrid weather, going to do sorting out and the ironing. So
14/20 and 1WE 1SNC for tonight. And another smiley soon. Very pleased as it is only 17th of the month and I am two thirds through my target - unusual for me.0 -
No more afds to report I'm afraid. I am not too disappointed tho as waking up hangover free after being very restrained for me. Had a couple of lovely pink gins last night watching a very strange film called Serenity. My five adult kids were all home for the weekend (3 live here anyway, but 2 live in London). They were all sat in the other room playing Monopoly til the early hours. It was so nice hearing them all having such a laugh 'playing nicely'
.
Back to alcohol, can I join the sncplease Shaggy. OH has mentioned doing the pub quiz tonight. The couple who we do the quiz with are my worst influences re the booze, but I want to be strong and go to the pub and have a B*cks blue and not be swayed. I also need to have my blood test this week and I want my liver results to be looking happier, not to mention my bad cholesterol, oh and the weightloss. Usually when we do the quiz it's a bottle of wine gone and then out come the crisps and nuts. Well tonight that is not going to happen, I've said it here. Will report back tomorrow.Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0 -

Hello
I went out for the rugby yesterday, I didn't go mad but I definitely enjoyed myself.
AF today, I'm going to aim for 5 on the SNC this week please.
12/20 for March today.
I have an interview tomorrow and am trying to write a presentation about redundancy processes. It's really quite dull.... I could do with a glass of wine to make it a bit more interesting, but will refrain!Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
16/26 AFDs today0

Your mother's fall must have been a shock, Annie G. It will probably be a one-off (mine was) and it might mean that she'll scale back a bit. I hope you find your antidepressants so that you are feeling grounded when you have to decide about the job in Vietnam. Huge congratulations on your son's graduation. #proudmum
Good luck with shifting a few pounds Rosy. It's not difficult to maintain a silth-like figure if you smoke like a beagle as Kate Moss probably still does Cathy Bird, but I'd rather be chubby than go back to smoking. It certainly helped me stay slim for 30 years but in the longrun it's not the answer.
I'm very surprised to say my weight seems to be stable at 67.5 kgs despite the rubbish I've been eating, but maybe I've cut down on the volume.
17/30 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0
