Everyone Welcome Anytime of the Month! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

I'll do the weekend challenge Shaggy - both nights please.0

Pollyanna I think we are at a similar stage. I can identify with your 1-4 days and also “what’s the point for 1-2” drinks when I’d prefer to wait and have the whole bottle. Greedy I know
Does anyone mind sharing what their weekly average in units is please?Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -
Oh and 9/17 for me please, thanks.Live for the moment and plan for the future0

I used to keep a food diary and did so for several years, Arsenal Barnie, but soon realised that:
1. I wasn't entering the booze in it; and
2. I forgot all the crap I'd eaten when I was drunk.
I'm pretty sure my problem is too much on the plate at meal times, snacking, cheese, chocolate, pesto and yoghurt. In fact, I know those are my problems.
*Healing vibes* for your dog, Arkers. I insured Kelpie with Pet*lan because he arrived with four weeks free insurance (RSPCA rescue) and our vet practice submits all the claims electronically for about £7 each. The one company they :shuddered: about has two initials as its name, and charges 13 premiums a year, ie four weekly instead of monthly so it looks cheap when they quote. Apparently they're unbelievable unhelpful when there's a problem. I have to say that Pet*lan paid out more in claims for Kelpie than I paid them, and that was with a standard £105 excess, plus 20% of claim age excess after he turned 10. They behaved exceptionally well over a claim that either didn't get submitted, or was lost once it was submitted after I flagged up the fact that they were unhelpful over the phone. I'd definitely recommend them but they aren't cheap; £45 a month when he was 12.
They only allowed one claim for hydrotherapy and he had a lot, so that has to be factored in to his vet care costs, but overall I regard my dog as my expensive hobby and just suck it all up. I also don't particularly enjoy going away on holidays any more, so we don't really bother with them which saves a lot of money, although we are allowing ourselves two short breaks this month.
Sorry the interviews haven't yet produced an attractive job offer, Annie G. Well done for keeping going. It will pay off.
I, too, have 'Sod it' Days, and always did about booze and smoking, but now it's about cheese and chocolate. All these indulgences are about me wanting to feel good. Dopamine, probably. I just need to believe the Kate Moss mantra - nothing tastes as good as skinny feels, which now, rather predictably she says she regrets saying. She still doesn't look as though she regrets it enough to eat her way through a full-sized chocolate cake a day, whereas I do.
I broke my left wrist falling over when I was drunk on my birthday. I'm still annoyed with myself over that but also rather rattled by the fact that I can remember standing up in the bathroom, leaving it, and then ... nothing. I still don't know why I fell over, other than I may have blacked out. Rather worrying, but it hasn't happened since. It was a huge issue in terms of thinking through why staying stopped was a better idea than letting myself have 'just one' when temptation reared it's ugly head.Better is good enough.0 -

Last weekend when I went to visit my mum, we drank far too much and the next morning she appeared with her face horribly bruised, she'd fallen over but couldn't remember how. It gave me quite a fright and I've been worried about her ever since.
Thank you for your good wishes on the job front. I have a 2nd interview on Monday for a job which isn't really suitable but it's the only option at the moment, apart from a job I've been offered back in Vietnam. I'm still waiting for details of the package before making a decision... I've also mislaid my antidepressant tablets so haven't taken them for a couple of days and am feeling quite unstable and unable to make a decision right now.
My son graduated from his RAF training school today. I was so very proud to watch him graduate but am shattered now as I left home at 6am and got back at 5pm. As soon as I've had dinner I'm off to bed... no booze tonight which brings me to 11 for March.Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
Evening all, no booze for me today , but off to mans the weekend so sorry no weekend challenge from me !!

AnnieG, my son had a careers fair in school this week. He’s always been interested in the RAF and engineering. He came with lots of leaflets.
Congratulations to your son on graduating.Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -
