Uh-oh, Jojo, don't quite know what to say....so saying nothing!

ATB - good luck, love. I would have loved another or more, but it wasn't to be and I am eternally grateful for the one that I have. Wise words though from the others, as usual especially from Pigpen.

HB - I'm feeling your pain. ((Hugs)). I'm feeling a bit not in control of anything atm, which is stressing me, which wakes me up in the early hours, which stresses me...you get the picture. I'm trying to keep up with dailies, and I did manage to get to clean the bathroom today which was a result. I've cleared a bit of paperwork and batted back a frog which keeps raising its head and refusing to back off. Roll on the weekend.

ETA - Jojo, I passed on your wisdom about choosing etc guitars to DD. She is over the moon about the trick for retrieving her picks from down the 'hole'...sorry, I'm not technical!

I love that trick - it makes it look like I'm doing something magic when I do it at school after somebody has been shaking their guitar in vain for at least ten minutes.

I opted for saying nothing as well when he said I hadn't given him any help to make it possible for him to go into the plumbing shop and ask for exactly what it is he needs (because he couldn't possibly explain the situation to a bloke-wot-knows and take his advice). I suggested that he came and looked at it again, moved a little bit quicker than usual and he snapped rather loudly that not only was he on his way, the cat was sitting on him and he was still talking'.

He almost got asked (in my grandmother's perfectly clipped RP voice, I was that annoyed) that when he can't seem to manage a relatively simple concept like vacuuming more than on a Quarter Day, cleaning the filter before it self combusts, or keeping the damned kitchen hygienic enough to house a pig, never mind feed the blasted thing safely, didn't he have a miniscule level of selfawareness that was telling him that the last thing he should be doing is twatting about with stuff he had no idea what to do with.

Instead, he got the full Stop-Dead-And-Slowly-Turn-Around-And-Look-Before-Turning-Back-And-Walking-Away.

He followed (sensibly keeping extremely quiet) and my calmly pointing out the parts established that he hadn't bothered checking what I meant when I said the waste outlet into the sink trap also needed capping off. I also made no mention of the contents of the sink cupboard now strewn across the floor, even when I tripped over the dustpan and brush.

Once he remembered after 2 hours that he'd put the cats outside just before the takeaway was collected , I then had to warm up and clean up the soggy, muddy paws of the Idiot Cat, who made a point of shivering pathetically and purring whilst bundled up in my cardie and is now busy looking contented and well cared for on my coat.

So I'm going to have a cuppa and then go to bed.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    Evening everyone

Interesting dilemma ATB. Obviously it's your own decision but I would definitely give it a good portion of time...........Really think about all the pros and cons for a good while - after all it will have long term implications for all of you.

    Dailies done
    Spanish lesson done
    S&S bathroom
    S&S kitchen
    Bank accounts checked
    Monthly accounts done and dusted

Order arrived Mr T and put away. My MOC had not been taken off on the invoice, so I 'phoned them and they said it showed as being discounted on my account. She suggested I checked my bank account in a couple of days and make sure it's been discounted.

Real result today. Took car to sell at E H. We had been offered £3000 as a trade in against our new-to-us car, but I thought it was worth more than that. Anyways, long story short we actually sold it for £3885 ! kerching :money:

No after-work stuff today, but essential online admin which took all evening. I will do something more than dailies tomorrow, but the other stuff has to come first at the moment.

Morning all! Didn't sleep well and don't feel all that great but hope it will pass as have my parents up for my birthday this weekend. Got to help S with his homework first thing, sling in another load of washing and have a vacuum around the house. Riding at 10 with 2 others which will be nice and then more housework when I get back home.

Lynnejk great news on selling the car and making that profit by not going for the £3k you were offered!

Jojo you had a real evening of it didn't you - hopefully today will be better.

Morning all. I haven't fully read back so can only offer hugs/spoons where needed, but no advice.

I have a day off the paid stuff today but it's quite busy with appointments and stuff. I have less than four weeks in my current employment now with no idea what I'm going to do next. At least its a big decision made.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Morning all,

Struggling to wake up this morning, no doubt the walk to school will blow some cobwebs away! I can't believe it's Friday again, another week has zipped by. DW is loaded and I will set it going shortly. It's going to be a fine day although chilly so I'll get some washing on the line.

I hope everyone has lovely days, will report back later xx

Homework done (as much as we could) - he had a little tantrum so I walked away till he calmed down and apologised for the way he had spoken to me. 11 year olds are very hard work. Just vacuumed right the way through the house - need to do the hard floors too but they'll have to wait for a bit. Got a job come in for this afternoon which I'll do after lunch. About to have a cuppa then off out on 'Johnny' for a bit to blow away the cobwebs - I LOVE having a horse so close and am going to ride my bike down there today to save petrol .... could be interesting lol.

    Catch you later x

Thank you everyone for the support. It's made my day.

(((Hugs))) Honey Bear. One thing I have learnt from this course is that you sometimes have to let dreams and good intentions go when reality gets in the way. It's not easy, but necessary if we are to remain sane - whatever sanity means :rotfl: You will have more energy now for the things that are left x

Thanks for that, Ionafan. I feel a lot better now that it's done depsite the fact that I now have two uses for things that I have decluttered in the past year. I'm surprisingly pleased by that - it was good stuff so someone else can now use it and I'll find a different way of doing those things. I am NOT buying replacements. Very, very little went to the tip, and walking into the RoD is amazing after the sty it had become. Still not got around to actually cleaning it though ....

Sorry to hear about Ralf, Piggers. I hope your mum is okay. Devil Cat is still with us. We've tweaked his medication the last possible tweak and OH now wakes up at 5.30 am to dose him up every morning, and they then go back to sleep together. Kelpie had his first training session yesterday with a new-to-me trainer and absolutely loved it which is a huge relief after months of concern. He's beginning to cope with going deaf and I've found a safe place to let him off lead where I can practice with him, so that's huge progress.

For some reason I am struggling to keep up with just the dailies and life atm. I'm not entirely sure why, but the most ridiculous things are just throwing me.

Ditto, but fortunately for me my horrendous fortnight is now completed and I intend to make sure I don't allow anything like that to happen again. A quick glance at my diary should have told me what was going to happen and it really, really needn't if I say no to people, which I've now started doing. Just because they want me to do something doesn't mean I have to. I think it's also the time of year - February 4th is generally considered to be a particularly low point, after which things should start to feel a bit lighter. Let's see.

I don't know what was going on at MSE Towers last week but we lost an entire 100 page thread elsewhere. The person that has been running them for years and years (we're up to Thread 14, which is the one that disappeared) has left as a direct result. Gutted.

I've done the carpets on the ground floor, did the kitchen sink last night, cleaned a birdfeeder the goldfinches wouldn't touch, refilled the peanuts and fatballs, WM x 3 and kept on top of the most vile bits, although both the shower room and bathroom need a proper scrub. Both letting rooms that need attention today as well but that's as much as I'm going to attempt to do.

Thanks Narco, they all arrived this morning. Something will be in the post to you very soon.
    Better is good enough.
