I bet Amazon have canvas shoes, but I’d be tempted to see what the strike looks like….will he stop ‘helping’ in the garden? Will he stop sorting all his clothes out of the cupboards? Will he stop ringing you when he breaks down in the scooter? You could be on to a winner 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Amazon do have canvas shoes but I’m going to try Primark tomorrow morning on the way to my friend’s house. If I get some I might hold on to them for a bit to see what this strike entails.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Ha ha yes…wouldn’t it be awful if he stopped tipping wee on the carpet and stopped talking to you about his beer supply. I hope you’ll be ok SA, stay strong 🤣Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Shouldn’t laugh SA but the strike has really tickled me 😂3

Why does he want them so much (in November)? Is it a brain damage thing, the fixation that's not overly logical?
You are great to find humour in what is essentially a demand and a threat !!
You are so good to him as you'll go looking for them rather than say no. At least try the strike out, you never know what long term benefit it may reveal.4 -
LOL I would let him go on strike. May mean less work for you in the long run.

What about Asda if you are in desperate need of shutting him up! You say you haven't but I think you have the patience of a saint, even saints aren't perfect you know!

It’s a brain thing, he gets fixated on something. He goes on and on until he wears you down. Fortunately the things he decides he needs aren’t expensive. He doesn’t really walk anywhere so they won’t be on the ground outside. I think he just wants something he can slip on easily. He has a pair of winter boots but he struggles to walk in them, he trudges as if they’re too heavy. He’s also got a few pairs of crocs for general shuffling about. I’ll see if I can pick up a cheap pair in Primark tomorrow.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

I reckon DD is one of those people who are immune to Covid as mentioned in the news today. I’ve lost count of how many times she’s had to self isolate due to being in close proximity at work with someone who tested positive, all her tests come back negative. She’s just been pinged again for being in contact with someone at the fireworks display on the park across the road last Saturday. I’m not surprised there were hundreds of people queuing to go in.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

We have both said we might be ones who are immune too it as well tonight. All the places we have been and people we have been with this year and neither one of us has had any sign of it.
The OH has been in close contact with several people who have diagnosed positive as well. And we have had a few cases in the office since I have been back. 🤔
We said prior to getting vaccinated that it would have been interesting to have an antibody test to see if we had been in contact with it.6
