I hope the food wasn’t expensive. That’s a shockingly bad vegetarian selection ☹️On the plus side…another man bag 😬Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I hate the hard sell you seem to get these days with businesses like opticians. They never used to be like that. When I was working I used to go to a branch of Boots Opticians near my firm and always found them professional. As I was WFH last summer and due to retire soon I decided to go to a local optician that my friend went to. To be honest I wasn't impressed - I mentioned casually that I would some day like those lenses that they actually put in your eyes and he almost salivated at the thought and started on the whole ' of course we can arrange that for you....'. No pal, I thought, if I ever have it done it's off to Moorfields with me, not to some mate of yours! And they haven't even contacted me this summer for a check up although I bought new glasses from them last summer. Expensive too and not a wide selection of frames. Sorry your food wasn’t up to scratch. We went out today and my friend is veggie…we tried a cafe neither of us has been in before. The choice was brilliant. I had avocado on toast and it was delicious.Bet Mr SA was chuffed with his haul.Hope work goes ok for you.January spends - £587.584

I should’ve walked away from the pub and gone somewhere else, it’s not as if there isn’t a wealth of choices in the city centre, but Mr SA was fully installed in a seat with his scooter parked up, it was just too much faff. Not expensive thankfully but still a waste of £20. For another £5 we could’ve had a decent meal at our local. What’s done is done, we won’t be going there again.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Alarm set for 5am 😢 will be heading off to bed soon. Mr SA is hassling me about going to Lidl tomorrow to pick up his beer and what are we having to eat Saturday night, reminded him it’s only Wednesday 😳
He’s loving his new PJs and coat. Hopefully today’s haul will pacify him for quite a while.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
A lot of catering establishments are having supply problems. Not saying this was why you couldn't get what you wanted but it may have contributed.

Glad Mr SA is happy with his new things.
You have reminded me that we need to get some beer. The fridge, the garage and the van are all but bare!!4 -
Happy Thursday.Been awake since 2.30 thinking about getting up early. I need to leave the house by 6.30 to get to work for a reasonable time to pick a good desk. Didn’t enjoy walking in the dark.
It’s so quiet here just me and a cleaner on this wing. I’ve had a chat with 2 people I haven’t seen since pre Covid as they passed my desk.
Anyway best get on. Have a good one 😎I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
We have a desk booking system in place , so you have an idea who is near you ie a colleague you know. I am in the office for 7.30 and it's usually myself and the cleaners .Have a good day SA .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3
