Had a nice morning at DS's. Sat in their garden. The train was packed solid on the way back. All they seem to do out DS's way is get on the train, get off and and go straight to the canal side bars in the city centre. It was just a mass walk of people heading for the canal. We just got in a taxi and went home.
The Aldi champagne isn't that nice in my opinion. I think I prefer cava or Prosecco. I've thought this before about champagne to be honest, even the more expensive ones.

. Glad you had a nice time at DS's house.

I'm not saying how old I was in 1982!:D
Good news on this months payroll figure though SA.
The pond/garden expenditure sounds excellent - I know you like sitting out there when the weathers good - so treat it like another room of the house!
I like Billecart-Salmon champagne the best, but you cant get it everywhere and it's not particularly cheap! Nothing worse though than mediocre champagne. I had the most gorgeous bottle of Prosecco when I was away which was given to me as part of the hotel deal. I took it home and my friend and I drank it - we couldn't get over how nice it was. It was in a clear bottle and had a pink label - I wish I'd kept the name! it was as good if not better than a lot of champagne I've had. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

seaside could you contact the hotel and ask what it was if it was their package?
I'm really not that fussed about champagne either. I'd rather have a very good bottle of red for the same moneyMy mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I might well do that redo. Good idea! I do love a good red too - unfortunately it tends to send me asleep if I quaff it on its own - I'm okay with it if it accompanies a meal! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

And how did we get to Smonday again
Went to the summer fair at the hospice. It was ok but a very long way to walk for not that great. We were too early for the Prosecco bar. The gardens were amazing though. Really brought it home when you looked at the benches dedicated to former patients, one only 40 years oldMr SA won a bottle of beer on the tombola. On the way home we nipped into Aldi then went for lunch at a local pub. Annoyingly Mr SA doesn't like eating outside when it's hot so we had to stay inside.
Can't believe it's time to start yet another working week - booOn the plus side I break up in just 5 weeks for Ibiza. Very tempted to book Lanzarote for October as we usually go then. Found a decent deal with the hotel we've been to before, just been refurbished and Jet2 have just started doing Tuesday flights from East Midlands at 9am. Mmm......
Anyway - happy July folksI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
