Great news on the pension pot , am sure it will be used wisely by you and not Mr SA. You defo need to chase your bonus, your old boss sounds like a case of sour grapes .

Wimbledon starts Monday , new balls please !

What a boring Saturday night - Mr SA is watching football and shouting at the TV because Sweden have just lost. On the upside he's just switched over in despair. Now he's expecting me to have an opinion on it - err no! Hoping he's not going to be going on about it all night!

SSG - I'll look into paying more into my pension. Need to find out who to contact. I'd also like to merge my other old work pension into it if I can then all the money is in one place.

I want to get a quote for the garden. Even if it's just to cut down the trees and bushes to start with. I need a landscape gardener to come up with ideas how to make it easier to look after. At the moment it's awash with trees and very claustrophobic. Depends how much it is what I have done. I'd like to save around £2k of the money.

I said I'd clear the Barclaycard once I got the money but it would take too large a chunk out of it. The plan is to clear it as soon as I've paid for the holiday, aiming for it being cleared by the end of the year.

Will now be able to afford to take the cat to the vets for her allergy and other things. Her vaccinations are long overdue too. It's DD's cat really but she doesn't have a lot to do with her and the cat is all me. Last time DD took her to the vets they mentioned the cat's teeth so they might need cleaning as well. It's got to be done.

Next week is the last week of the budget before the new one starts. For once I won't have to play catch up with the cc on payday - really pleased about this:)

    Happy Saturday :)

Lost 1lb at WW. Only have to lose 1lb to be back at goal.

Got a letter from the old employer pension fund that's winding up which had been frozen since 2004. I have the option to take it as a lump sum £6k after tax and fees. Tempted to do this to be honest

Grandkids came today and grandson wreaked havoc. DS's health visitor thinks he's showing signs of autism. I've noticed he likes to put things in neat piles and screams if you upset the order. However, he's quite sociable. I suppose time will tell.

Thinking about my budget, I think I need to factor in some personal spends, say £40 a month so I can have the odd splurge without going over budget and feeling guilty. So with this in mind, I'm going to look at a budget reshuffle this weekend. It needs to be fit for purpose.

Been on the park with the dog twice today, it was lovely and sunny but the wind was biting. Not looking forward to the cold snap next week.

Hope everyone has had a fab day :)
another thing in common my gs 2 1/2 has recently been diagnosed with autism he's delightful and i look after him monday and tuesday, he's getting private help soon we are all going to a workshop just so we no how to all work together x

My nephew has autism but once we got into his way of thinking it was a lot easier for the family and he relaxed more and now he's coming on leaps and bounds xx

    Boo it's Smonday :(

Lovely hot sunny day in the garden today and forecast the same all week and I'll be stuck inside the office. 30 degrees forecast! I hate being indoors when the sun is shining. If I get there for 7am I can leave about 3pm. It wouldn't be so bad but I sit by the window which is covered by two trees so I have no idea what the weather is doing.

Mr SA is lost in football - it's on again right now :(

Did the finances etc today and can report:

    Holiday 520/1422
    VSP 301.30
    Emergency fiund 2000/10,000
    MSP 28.73
    Debt 2400
    AFD 6/8
    NSD 5
    Extra exercise sessions 3/3
Need to lose 6lbs for holiday

    Today was a NSD.

    Budget still on track :)

Need to pay the pension cheque in tomorrow. Mr SA is already referring to it as "that money" and is going around singing "we're in the money". Fed up of explaining to him we need to be careful with it and that I need to put some of it into savings.

Going to ring a gardener tomorrow to get a quote for the work that needs doing, even if we just have the trees chopped down it's a start. We've got a giant Christmas tree that wouldn't look amiss in Trafalgar Square and that needs to go for a start!

Hope everyone has had a great weekend :)

Glad the pension cheque finally arrived, and I second Seasides suggestion about upping your pension contributions. Tax efficient, and hidden savings so win win.

    That's Monday done.

Cheque paid in, will clear Friday. Payslip viewable online, first full month's wage since my promotion and am £245 a month better off after tax and pension payment :)

Had boiler serviced today by the gas fitter who installed it a year ago £60. He's offered to restore our pond completely for £500 including pump, pipes, total clean out, re-lining etc. He can do it next week. He does this as a sideline. He's also recommended a landscape gardener he uses who is very good and reasonably priced.

AFD 7/8 tonight. Got a bottle of Becks Blue alcohol free tonight.
