Happy August 🥳
New month, new goals 🏆Another unexpected dry day. Took the dog to the bigger local park with the garden centre, so 14k steps clocked up in one go. Managed not to buy any plants so can declare today as NSD1 of August. One week at work then off for a week. Having a staycation. Can’t understand why the media call holidaying in this country a staycation it’s still a holiday away from home. To me a staycation is staying at home 🤔
As the sun is currently shining, going to tidy up the garden a bit. I’m trying really hard to get into gardening, I’m not really a manual work type of person but I’m trying. I was born to work in an office or other similar pink and fluffy job, anything where there’s no possibility of breaking a nail 😆 Mr SA says I’m a bit like Margo in The Good Life 🤣
There is a funny tale attached to the above. A few years ago at work they made us go on a manual handling course, why I don’t know, it was to tick a health and safety box no doubt, so we were qualified to lift a box of paper up probably 😆 We got this really keen ex RAF bloke running the course. He asked me what the heaviest thing I picked up at work was. Told him it was a pen. He said what about if you need a box of paper for the photocopier. Told him we had a man who did that sort of thing, I don’t get involved with it. He wasn’t amused. Needless to say we never had to do it again.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
I agree I think if you had a car it would be sitting in the drive way most of the time with mr SA annoying you trying to find the car keys so he could just sit in it 😂😂.4

“We had a man who did That sort of thing”
That made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣. I could just imagine RAF guys face3 -
I’m more like a low maintenance Barbara, but without any of the hard labour, then I’m a Margo without the nails or hair done 😁 Thank goodness I have a desk job.Another one imagining the car in the driveway….and the driveway being like a small bumper car arena (unless he managed to get through the gates) 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

These flowers come back year after year. The plants must be at least 30 years old. We moved into this house in 1992 and they were well established then. I think they are anemones.

They are, Japanese anemones. We’ve got some white ones. They look lovelyCarolbee4

Remember Jaws the evil looking plant with the massive thorns I photographed the other week? It’s showing it’s soft side and producing some very tame looking pink roses 😆
