The gulls were circling some houses, I wonder if there were a few people having BBQs. I’ve never seen so many.
Although I’ve got plenty of courgette plants, they’re not exactly producing a lot of courgettes. However the plant that decided to co-habit with the giant sunflower in a pot is looking very promising and has produced a huge flower. It’s weird because it must be fighting for root space but seems very happy.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Happy Sunday, another hot one ☀️☀️It will be NSD 8/15 today. Not going anywhere. Too hot to take the dog for her Sunday long walk.I’ve put a colour on my hair this morning and planning a manicure and pedicure later. Not going to do much else. The dog slept on the window seat last night, had both windows open so it was cooler for her there. She was a pain though, barking at the odd person passing, cats and foxes.Going to make a pizza and salad for tonight’s dinner, too hot to faff about with loads of cooking.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Lovely courgette flower there. I believe they are very nice battered and fried but I’ve never tried them. I didn’t get around to plant mine this year and ds must have used old seeds as they didn’t do anything. In previous years I’ve had some good results with courgettes but the leaves always get some kind of mildew on them…..no idea why.
Enjoy the sunshine…..it’s my mission to stay out of it 😃January spends - £587.583 -

The leaves on this particular courgette are massive. Not going to try and move it, it’s obviously happy sharing with the sunflower.I’m in the process of chopping down a conifer hedge. Already looks loads better. The cat isn’t happy as it means her nice shady spot is no longer shady. I’ve got nowhere to put the clippings but hey ho … 🤣
Mr SA is harbouring a wheelie bin full of lead in the garden. Been there a few years now, it’s leftover bits from when he was a roofer. DS has offered to take him to a metal place to sell it but Mr SA thinks he’ll want to go halves on the proceeds. So it will probably stay in the wheelie bin forever and no one will get anything 🙄I contacted a place that buys and fetches lead but there isn’t a sufficient quantity for it to be worth their while, needs to be a skip full.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
I’m looking after my neighbours house whilst they are at their other home in France for the next few months( that’s if they can get back). Anyway best thing is I can use their recycling bins whilst they are away. The garden waste bin is a god send in this weather. Both theirs and mine are full each collection day. Our council are looking into a scheme where they will start charging around £40 a year to empty your garden waste bin. I know some councils are already doing this . Can see more fly tipping around here if it goes ahead.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.005
