Hooray to new bed. Will they get rid of the old one for you?January spends - £587.584

Yes I paid extra for them to take it away.So not a NSD after all. Just had to order mattress protector, new sheets and pillows. All budgeted for though.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

The bedroom is all coming together at once. Can't wait to see the finished pictures.4

Well the new hosepipe has arrived and it seems so much more robust than the others we’ve tried. It has a 2 year guarantee so let’s hope it doesn’t spring a leak 🤞 It was double the price so should be good!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Another coat of paint put on the blooming drawers and they finally look black not liquorice 🥳 Had time to do a bit of pottering in the garden and discovered 4 tiny courgettes have made an appearance. Lots of flowers so should be a good crop. Sat in the garden and finished my book - The Catch by TM Logan was really good and set where I live so made it even more interesting. Where I was sitting at the bottom of the garden, accompanied by the dog and cat, heard a loud scrambling noise on the fence which alarmed all of us. Whatever it was disappeared, probably a squirrel, was driving the dogs nuts sniffing the air.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Glad it’s all coming together and the black drawers are now black.January spends - £587.584

I read The Catch recently too. It would make a good tv mini series I think. I read The Holiday by the same author first and probably liked that a bit more. I just finished Another Woman's Child by Kerry Fisher - well actually I listened to it. Really enjoyed it and it was thought provoking too.Sounds like you've done a good job on the chest of drawers. The preparation is tedious but worthwhile in the end.4

Happy Friday eve 😎
Will be another spending day today as I need to go to Lidl when they open at 8. Looked at finances yesterday and for the first time in a long time the credit card has a rather big balance outstanding but this is all bedroom/garden stuff and will be fully cleared on Wednesday when the Regular Saver matures. Next month onwards I really must rein it in and start overpaying the additional borrowing part of the mortgage which is my next goal now the bedroom is done.
Today's cleaning task is the bedroom. Putting the new handles on the drawers today ready for DD to move into her room. She'll be on a warning not to chip the paintwork 😆 The next bedroom task is painting the little room off the bedroom that I used as a walk-in wardrobe prior to renovations. Leaving one rail in there for my coats but the rest of the room will be used to store toiletries (I have a fair few 😆) and anything else I can't fit in my wardrobe/drawers. It would make a great en-suite but that's not a job anywhere near the top of my list.
Trying a new recipe tonight from the PON website - roast red pepper and cherry tomato pasta, got plenty of spaghetti to use up. Will make 2 portions and have the other for lunch tomorrow.
The cat is driving me nuts, I only fed her an hour ago, she's eaten that plus some of the dog's biscuits and is now hassling me for more food. The dog and Mr SA are both still fast asleep.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
We didn't think we were bothered about having an ensuite until we moved into this house. Don't think I would be without one now4
