I managed a run too - shattered! I am so unfit.
In my defence it was uphill with a headwind, but that doesn't usually reduce me to a couch potato immediately afterwards! Well done on yours - plus zumba and dog walking - wow!
Re cowls, personally I'd go for it (I get upset thinking of birds being trapped) but if you're going to need scaffolding, perhaps defer it till you want some roof work done and combine the two?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Re Covid jabs, my DD1 had a text about her jab last week. She has the same condition as your DD so am assuming that that’s why she’s been called now.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Morning, happy Friday Eve
Have been up to Aldi this morning so 7k steps done. Unbelievably while I was being served at the checkout, an old bloke barged right up to me and plonked 2 cartons of milk on top of my shopping. The checkout lad put it through with my shopping and I had to point out it wasn’t mine! The old bloke said sorry have I jumped the queue! Really 😩
I can feel it in my legs this morning after yesterday’s shenanigans. I think a yoga session after work is in order today.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
How rude 😲 we had an elderly lady in Morrison’s a week or so ago. Long queue down the aisle which then splits between 2 at the tills. She went and stood behind one of the tills oblivious to the long queue. The lady in front of me just shrugged her shoulders and said it’s not worth upsetting her - she only had a couple of things. I do wonder sometimes if it’s genuine confusion or a case of cracking daft in the hope to get away with queuing......Wasn’t worth the upset though of showing her the queue.
Hope you get the roof sorted ok without having to pay for scaffolding.January spends - £587.584 -
We had a hipped roof at our old house and we did eventually find someone willing to go up and do some minor works up there for us without having to put scaffold up. The cost of the scaffold would have far outweighed the cost of the minor roofing repairs we had done!
Old people are the worst in shops!!4 -
I had an elderly woman plonk herself next to me on the seat at the bus stop earlier this week. I way moved up away from her at which point she said "it's alright" as though I was just giving her more space.3

Haha you’ve made me laugh re old people in supermarkets @Sun_Addict at least a little of the reason my wife won’t go in the places lol.5

Every time I go in a supermarket I remember why I prefer to shop online 😆
Mr SA and I are at loggerheads over this blooming bird cowl. He’s adamant we don’t need one and doesn’t want anyone climbing on his precious roof. I shall let the situation simmer a while but if I decide I want it doing it will get done - end of 🤬A nice surprise again from work, I’ve been awarded a £20 voucher for taking part in a presentation. I’m on a roll this month: pay rise awarded and backdated to last June in March wages, the performance bonus will be in March wages, the nomination for the award (ceremony in 2 weeks) and now this voucher. Happy days 😁 I love my job most of the time but even more so this month 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
