Sun_Addict said:We had leaded stained glass windows before and I was adamant I just wanted plain ones. I wasn’t very helpful with the salesman and just said I don’t want anything fancy 😆 The door I just pointed to one in the brochure and picked that one. No doubt I picked the most expensive one. He started asking about types of glass and I was just saying I’m not that bothered 🤣
Now I’m looking at the outside and thinking about new fascias, drainpipes, repointing, the drive could do with pressure washing etc etc. Talk about open up Pandora’s Box 😆
Never ending isn't it?6 -
Love the windows and doors and the Jack Russell terrier peering through the window at you taking the picture LOL
They look really good and hopefully the house will stay nice and warm. Our next door neighbours will only eat a very bland menu. No curries, pasta, rice dishes, pizza or even fish. Just meat and potatoes and veg. The husband cant cook at all so the wife cooks at least 2 roasts a week and carves up meat for them to have the same meal three or four times a week. Sounds incredibly boring to me but each to their own.

Regarding Mr SA and his food, there is a funny (not at the time though) story. About 4 years ago we stayed at the Grand Palladium Hotel and Spa in Ibiza. It’s an amazing hotel, really top notch. The food and drinks were the best we’ve ever had in a hotel, you name it they had it. One lunchtime we were in the dining room and he came back with a whole french baguette and a plate of chips, then proceeded to fill the baguette with chips. I was so embarrassed, especially when he asked a waiter to fetch him some ketchup. Prior to the brain injury he wouldn’t have dreamed of doing this. I can laugh now but it was so embarrassing at the time and attracted a lot of attention.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

The house is noticeably so much warmer already although it has been quite mild today. There are no draughts coming from the windows or door. I’m pleased with the windows but really love the door.
Anyway next step is the roof repair, someone coming tomorrow or Friday. Only a few tiles need putting back. God help them as Mr SA and DS did our roof about 10 years ago and Mr SA is so precious about it, he’ll be out there in the drive supervising. I hope the neighbour has forewarned them they are dealing with an ex roofer 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
