I would have been terrified we were once on a beach in Northumberland and a couple had a great big dog that was just running around taking balls of other dogs and just making a nuisance of it’s sel it ran at me and jumped up and knocked me over then it ran off across the car park very friendly just bouncing about my hubby was saying get it on a leash and all they kept saying was it takes no notice we can’t do anything with it hubby said all the more reason it should be on a lead it has ran off it could cause an accident or be killed they looked at us as if it hadn’t dawned on them that could happen no bad dogs just bad owners7

On a separate dog story note, DD’s friend’s little girl has been badly bitten by a French Bulldog. The dog has had to be destroyed. Apparently this wasn’t the first time it had bitten someone. She showed me a photo of the little girl with a huge bite mark on her face, looks really nasty.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

There are so many untrained dogs around at the moment. I think part of the problem is trainers and behaviourists can't work so people that would normally ask for help can't do so. There is lots of on line training but people don't think of it. They also don't realise training needs constant reinforcement and you can train an old dog. We have proved that with all ours. It just needs more time and patience.10

My dog is not sociable with other dogs and I keep her on her lead unless I can see there are definitely no dogs around but the amount of people who let their dog run up to her after they have seen me tighten my grip on her lead drives me nuts, they always look at me and say don't worry he/ she only wants to play, I always give them plenty of warning that she will attack their dog if it gets too close but some of them still wait until their dog is right in her face before they call it away, then they looked shocked when she snarls and tries to bite their dog. I carry treats in my pocket to try to distract her but she gets really upset when being hassled so sometimes the treat doesn't workOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1208
