I have had a washer/dryer for years and love it. The only thing I tumble dry is dressing gowns & towels though, except 8n an absolute emergency.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j5

Re washer/drier debate - I much prefer a separate drier and washing machine which is what I always had before I moved into my flat some years ago and had to buy a washer/drier because of lack of space. I've had three so far - the first lasted some years and wasn't bad at drying. The last two have been less successful and have never dried the washing as good as the first. To be honest I only ever use the drier now for towels and tea towels and have to hang them on the airer afterwards to fully dry off.I bought my DD a Lakeland heated airer for a Christmas present as it had received good reports in reviews I had read. If I remember correctly it only costs about 6p day to run. I'll check with her to see what she thinks of it.Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

We have a Bosch washer drier and are quite happy with it although I don't use the drier on it that often. We had a separate tumble drier in our old kitchen but opted to go for a combined washer/drier with the new kitchen and gained a cupboard. I usually only use the drier facility for bedding, towels and underwear but mostly I hang shirts, t shirts, jumpers, trousers etc on a hanging rail in one of the bedrooms and other washing goes over the bannisters. It is dry in less than a day. Or it goes on the washing line outside although so cold at the moment it is not worth hanging it out. Both my DDs have the Lakeland heated airers as they have less space to dry stuff indoors.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Funnily enough, on the subject of washer dryers, I belong to a FB group called Team Tomm (it's to do with cleaning and the Organised Mum Method) and someone asked whether they were any good earlier today. She got loads of replies and the majority said the same, don't buy one. I was thinking about the Lakeland one too, OBL, but baulked at the price. Hence trying out the cheap one first before deciding whether I really want one or not. I'm currently drying a king size duvet cover on it and as it's the only thing on there it's doing a fairly decent job. I think I overloaded it yesterday.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1206 -
My problem with the washing is as Mr SA and DD are both so big and tall their clothes are big and heavy and take ages to dry. They even have super size bath towels as normal ones are too small. I feel like I’m in that old TV programme Land of the Giants 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

I might be lazy but I tumble dry everything. I really don't like having clothes hung around the house to dry. Even when the dryer is playing up and the clothes are hung in the spare bathroom which we don't use, it still bothers me. Perhaps I'm just a bit odd

Morning all, happy Friday Eve
Have been to the big Mr T this morning. The pavements were covered in frost but not really slippery. I daren't risk going via the big hills though, had to go the long way round. On the plus side I've done almost 8k steps already. There appears to be a shortage of rosemary at the moment, can't get it anywhere. I've got a rosemary bush in the garden, not sure if it's died off for winter, will need to check. I use rosemary a lot.
Should be a fairly quiet day work-wise (she says hopefully). I had a flurry of email requests when I first logged on but think I've sorted everyone out for now. I'm hoping to be able to clear a few bits and bobs today.
Aside from work today's cleaning task is the living room, exercise task is 30 minutes jog or online dance class (think I might do the Maxicise class on You Tube), will be taking the dog on the park at lunchtime and 14k steps. Tonight's dinner is fish pie with cauliflower mash.
I didn't realise until someone at work mentioned it yesterday, that under lockdown rules, it's back to only going out once a day for exercise. I checked on the Government website and that's correct. Which means I can only take the dog out once a day. Oh well at least she gets a trip out with Mr SA in the morning then with me at lunchtime. Presumably the trip to the shops this morning is classed as a separate trip out.

Yes they snuck in the once a day for exercise on the sly didn't they?
Not sure if walking the dog comes under exercise or animal welfare though. Either way we have been bending that rule. The other half has been taking the dog out first thing, I take him at lunchtime and then again after work and then the other half takes him out again before bed. Our dog is odd and won't go for a wee or poo in the garden unless it is an absolute last resort so he wouldn't go unless we took him out, even if it is just around the block!5 -

It is about 30p a load to dry washing in our machine and we do 3 or 4 loads a week. So it does add up over the year but I'm happy to pay that for the convenience of having dry washing that can be folded and put away straight away.5
