RelievedSheff said:I might be lazy but I tumble dry everything. I really don't like having clothes hung around the house to dry. Even when the dryer is playing up and the clothes are hung in the spare bathroom which we don't use, it still bothers me. Perhaps I'm just a bit oddAll that clutter used to be money5

A why didn't I think of this before moment this lunchtime. Have just been on eBay and ordered a 100g bag of rosemary for £2.48, bearing in mind I pay £1 for a 20g jar this is a bargain. Also ordered a 100g bag of harissa spice as the 80p a tube paste I usually buy from Mr M is forever out of stock and only the more expensive one available at £2 for a very small jar. I can make my own paste from the spice. The herbs/spices I get through a lot of are rosemary, harissa, smoked paprika, Chinese 5 spice and Cajun spice. Will be buying in bulk going forward.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

I don't know if you have an Asian or Chinese supermarkets near you but they are always cheaper for buying herbs and spices.7

A couple of things to reply to then I must get ready for work!
The first lockdown only suggested restricting outdoor exercise to once a day so they have definitely changed that.
I discovered that if I'm willing to bring my own containers, I can buy spices very much more cheaply at the eco-friendly shop. It seems a big chunk of what we normally pay is for glass or the weight of the glass. So far it's been very good quality, too. (As well as saving resources and helping a local business.).
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Yes I do have an Asian supermarket within reasonable walking distance but it’s usually very busy which I don’t fancy tackling at the moment. I used to pass it every day coming home from work so it was quite handy then. I’ve bought all sorts of weird and wonderful things from it.
Unfortunately no eco-friendly shops locally, I wish we did have one.Just got back from the park with the dog. The grass is frozen solid, really crunchy.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
SA my ds has bought dh spices from the internet along with cookery books as a present, which is why I’ve ended up with so many. I hadn’t realised quite how many we had until I came to find homes for them in my new cupboards.😳
im with you relieved sheff - I tumble dry virtually all the time too....I hate washing hanging about and I’m very wary of it causing condensation. In my eyes no point saving on the electricity to have to pay to get rid of damp.....we do suffer with some bits of condensation so I’m super alert about it. Plus I save on ironing 👏👏👏 and the electricity the iron would have used. There’s only 2 of us at home now - it’s my treat to me not to have to hang washing out or iron 👍January spends - £587.585 -

Have been to the big Mr T this morning. The pavements were covered in frost but not really slippery. I daren't risk going via the big hills though, had to go the long way round. On the plus side I've done almost 8k steps already. There appears to be a shortage of rosemary at the moment, can't get it anywhere. I've got a rosemary bush in the garden, not sure if it's died off for winter, will need to check. I use rosemary a lot.
Should be a fairly quiet day work-wise (she says hopefully). I had a flurry of email requests when I first logged on but think I've sorted everyone out for now. I'm hoping to be able to clear a few bits and bobs today.
Aside from work today's cleaning task is the living room, exercise task is 30 minutes jog or online dance class (think I might do the Maxicise class on You Tube), will be taking the dog on the park at lunchtime and 14k steps. Tonight's dinner is fish pie with cauliflower mash.
I didn't realise until someone at work mentioned it yesterday, that under lockdown rules, it's back to only going out once a day for exercise. I checked on the Government website and that's correct. Which means I can only take the dog out once a day. Oh well at least she gets a trip out with Mr SA in the morning then with me at lunchtime. Presumably the trip to the shops this morning is classed as a separate trip out.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1207 -
I hang my washing in the spare room so it's not all over the house, the only exception to this is my duvet which I hang over the stairs,it's dry by morning when I fold it up and put it awayOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1206

Happy Friday 🎉
Feels like a proper Friday this week after a full week back at work.
Should be NSD4 today, don't need anything, not going anywhere. Today's cleaning is the spare room which won't take long as it's just got the gym equipment in it. Today's exercise activity is HIIT cardio and core from my WW app plus dog walking and 14k steps. I've got leftover fish pie with cauliflower mash from yesterday so will have that tonight as there's no room in my freezer for it. Talking of the freezer, I really must tidy it out yet again today, I'm fed up of rooting around in it looking for stuff then giving up when I can't find it. I'm going to do a meal plan for next week that involves using up what I've got in there.
No idea what the weather's doing out there as it's still pitch black. Was expecting to see snow but it's not even frosty.
Glad we're not in Lanzarote at the moment, they've had terrible storms and floods. We often used to go the first week in January and the weather was always glorious in the day but chilly at night. As much as we love our holidays, we won't be going anywhere until it's safe even if we have to wait until next year. Still putting the money to one side though.
Have a fabulous Friday 😎
