I had a washer dryer years ago couldn’t wait to get rid of it took ages to dry anything even thin shirts and everything smelled damp had the engineers out a couple of times couldn’t find anything the matter with it just pulled a face and said they wouldn’t recommend them I have 2 large bedrooms a large lounge and a kitchen the size of a caravans no where to put anything I hang all washing in my clothes alter on the landing with dehumidifier on it’s a bit of a pain in the winter with bedding and towels but I’m used to it now especially days like today we’ve had a heavy snowfall again I hate 🥶6

When ours is working it works fine and the clothes come out dry and fresh. A full wash and dry cycle takes about 3 hours though so it isn't a quick process. But that doesn't matter for us so long as the clothes are clean and dry.
It wasn't such a problem in the summer when it wasn't drying clothes as I could just put them outside to dry. More of a problem now it is winter though. We have been hanging stuff in the bathroom with the extractor fan on to dry them. Although fingers crossed it has been working just fine again. Will find out in 10 minutes if it has dried this morning's load of towels!!5 -
I have a heated airer from Lakeland, have owned it about 3 years. It is different from the Aldi one, it is more of a box shape ,it does fold flat for storage, and clothes can be laid flat or hung. There is a 3 tier one but I bought the smaller 2 tier version.I think they now come with a cover but I just throw an old duvet cover over mine. I hang shirts and T shirts on hangers once washed and use the airer for everything else except towels/bedding. I do 10 to 12 gym classes a week so need a lot of gym wear. These dry really quickly. I leave it on overnight and the clothes are dry by morning. It costs about 3p an hour to run. Invaluable in winter.6

Not a lot of difference, if any, in the cost to run between the heated airers and a dryer then assuming 10 hours to dry the clothes on the airer.
On a positive note our washer dryer has dried today and we now have fresh, clean and dry towels
And the sun is out. It's going to be a good day.6 -

My relative has a washer drier and it’s awful. Because the clothes have been spun and it goes straight into drying mode the clothes come out with deep creases in. Whereas they get shaken between the process of taking them out of the washer and putting them into a separate drier. I had one in my old house and I can’t remember if it was the washer or drier that broke - just out of guarantee....but it meant I’d lost both washer and drier as it was cheaper to buy a new washer than get it repaired ( couldn’t afford another washer drier at the time ) Something to consider before you make a choice.
I don’t blame dh and dog having a lazy morning- got to admit I’ve been the same myself 😳January spends - £587.586 -

When lockdown 1 finished wife and I went into town both of us absolutely wasted and hadn’t even had that much to drink compared to when we were younger. The walk back home didn’t happen. 😆
Mince pies made me laugh too we’ve still got stuff from Christmas - in-laws brought enough round to feed about 6 FML.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1206 -
Everyone I know who has owned a washer dryer has said they are rubbish, people are also complaining that the Aldi airier isn't very good but the Lakeland one is really efficient, I nearly bought a Lakeland one just before Christmas but chickened out at the price,I'm still thinking about one though 😀
On the subject of people getting taller this is actually true due to better nutrition and living conditions,I measure children a lot as part of my job and over the last 20 years we have noticed a big difference in children's height. I also went to a farming museum a few years ago and part of Of was a tour of the old mill, the gap between the ceiling and the floor was too low even for me at 5ft there was info there about the fact that people were much shorter then so it wouldn't have been a problem plus the fact that some of the workers would have been children

I take back what I said about the weather being miserable, the sun came out just before lunchtime and it's glorious now. Took the dog on the park then spent a bit of time picking twigs up in the garden while I had my coat and wellies on.
Funnily enough, on the subject of washer dryers, I belong to a FB group called Team Tomm (it's to do with cleaning and the Organised Mum Method) and someone asked whether they were any good earlier today. She got loads of replies and the majority said the same, don't buy one. I was thinking about the Lakeland one too, OBL, but baulked at the price. Hence trying out the cheap one first before deciding whether I really want one or not. I'm currently drying a king size duvet cover on it and as it's the only thing on there it's doing a fairly decent job. I think I overloaded it yesterday.
