I I used to work in a town about 6miles from where I live and it was a different world I could struggle to the bus stand praying the bus would turn up and get to work nothing and worry all day about getting home many a time I’ve walked the last couple of mile because the bus couldn’t go any further and walked around in my dinner break like a yeti people couldn’t believe it when my mam was alive she always used to say I can’t visit you it’s to cold you get snow in July up there it’s like a lot of places lovely in the summer6

We had some snow earlier but mostly gone now. We are however both concerned about the junction outside our house tonight. It was slushy but has now frozen solid, the roads are not adopted yet so not gritted and it is turning to a sheet of ice. The delivery drivers drive round here like mad men, very inappropriate for a estate road and we can both see an accident waiting to happen tonight 🙄

When we first got married we lived in a little terraced house on a hill like that - but it was cobbled. Dh used to work at the hospital and often started at 6 am....he often had to phone in as he couldn’t get the car out....between the cobbles used to freeze solid. Once you got off our street onto the flat tarmac roads it was fine.....bet work thought he was swinging the lead. They did eventually tarmac the road....just after we’d moved 😱 typical. The icy hill was part of the reason we moved.

on the top left. It was an absolute nightmare in winter, had to crawl up on hands and knees if it was snowy or icy. Even in summer you had to walk sideways to cross.

Fortunately we live on a flat road but it’s difficult to get anywhere without going up or down a hill. The buses stop running at the first snowflake. On the plus side we don’t get snow on a regular basis and it tends to disappear as soon as it lands.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

That is true we lived in both Totnes and Paignton both times at the top of a hill. We no0w live in the next county north and although there are hills we deliberately chose a house on the flat. Mind you with rising sea levels and we are not that far from the Somerset levels I am not sure it was a good move.

It is of course always someone else's fault when they are overweight!5 -
I wish I could blame someone else but it is all me. DH is almost 6ft tall and weighs between 9 and 10 stone depending on how he is feeling, what the weather is doing and goodness knows what else. I am sure people think I dont feed him. I do!! Honest.
