Blimey that's steep! Glad we moved to somewhere flat.
Where we used to live was on a steep hill that was a bus route. Had several near misses with buses almost in the front garden every winter when it snowed 🤔5 -
Very steep that’s the trouble in winter you dread leaving the house if it’s icy hilly where I live I bought some of those wires that go round your shoes they were a godsend but I must admit one good thing about being furloughed this year when I looked out the bedroom window the other morning and seen the ice my first thought was thank god I don’t have to go to work in that although I have been for a walk every day get my steps up and my fitness levels didn’t realise how unfit I have become not walking to work and back but a week has made a difference definitely feel better for it8

Morning all, happy Saturday 🥂
I’m missing my walking to and from work too @IzzyBee, although not on these dark cold mornings. Commute is now downstairs to my desk in the dining room so the steps have to be done walking the dog and on a treadmill.
I’ve been out to the local shops, hardly anyone around for a Saturday. Shelves were a bit bare in parts but I suppose they’re awaiting deliveries with it being a bank holiday yesterday. Got what I went for though. Tried to take the dog out earlier but she refused to budge from the top of the stairs. Will have another attempt shortly. She can be lazy at times.
It’s a beautiful sunny day, no ice but very cold 🥶I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Just back in from my walk enjoyed it very icy still and we still have a covering of snow 12000 steps done only been a week but I am feeling the benefit of healthy eating and exercise feeling so much better in myself and I’ve got to keep myself motivated because of my sons wedding met a few dog walkers and everyone seems happy to be out and about even if it’s cold it’s bright makes you feel better onwards an upwards have a good day everyone8

Well done with the walking Izzy. You’ve inspired me by saying you’ve noticed a difference in a week. It’s very icy here too.....and I’ve literally just glanced up and it’s started snowing- big flakes....it’ll probably stick if it carries on.....thought we’d seen the last of it as it wasn’t forecast when I looked yesterday.
Your dog makes me smile SA....there personalities are so different. We had a dog who would hide if we tried to take him out too often but another that would walk all day long.January spends - £587.586 -
That’s thanks Milann I have a lot of weight to lose and I have been on every diet going over the years although I class myself as quite active I’ve been furloughed from work since March and I have found a big difference in my weight and fitness levels I struggled mentally with the lockdown at the beginning but I feel as if I’ve got myself into a good place and feel as if I’ve got it sussed at last my sons getting married August 2022 and I am only going to get weighed at the end of every month and then if I’ve had a really good week and get weighed at the end of it and haven’t lost anything I feel disappointed but I know if I stick with it and get weighed at the end of the month I will have got to have lost something I have a under active thyroid which doesn’t help but then neither does chocolate8

That’s a great idea to only weigh in once a month, weight can fluctuate so much a month will give a more accurate indication of how you’re doing. Taking measurements too as we often focus on weight loss when it’s inches that really count. Good luck with your goal.
Just got back from taking the dog on the park again and the snow has started falling, big flakes too.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Thanks SA you can all keep me motivated5

The snow settled then it started raining, now it’s gone. Talk about a flash in the pan. We have some weird weather here. A few years ago it was snowing, really deep, people were abandoning their cars. All the buses were off so I had to walk to work in my bright yellow snow boots. It completely disappeared during the course of the day and I felt so stupid trudging home in the sunshine in snow boots.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6
