Thank you all 👍
What a whirlwind of a day. Walked into town to get the euros, never even thought about the M&S exchange counter being closed. Mad panic until I noticed a Hays Travel so bought from there. Terrible exchange rate almost €1 =£1. Luckily it’s pretty cheap in Greece. Ended up buying Mr SA some new stuff from Primark as he really needed undies and PJ sets. It was such a shame to see the city centre shops so empty of stock 😩 Hardly anyone about, really quiet, just terrible. I wanted to buy myself a strappy dress for daytime but didn’t see anything I liked. Not much choice at all.Have more or less packed but had to nip out to Savers again for a mosquito plug. Picked up a couple of travel plugs as they were only £1, got them home and they are for USA 😩 Mr SA announced he had no spray to take so I picked him a small one up from Savers for £9.99. Got it home and it is so tiny only 15ml and not a spray 😩 Talk about last minute throwing money away.More or less finished packing and getting so stressed. I’m always like this the day before a holiday. I’m convinced I’ll forget something although I’ve got a checklist and ticked off as I’ve packed.I’ve done about 23,000 steps so far, I can’t sit still. I’m just thinking this time tomorrow we’ll be there and installed in the hotel.Need to do some ironing, clean the kitchen and bathroom then have a bath. Need to set an alarm for 2am 😱😱 Not worth going to bed!!
DD bought me a bottle of gin for my birthday, DS bought me a big box of smellies and a gin bar sign with my name on. Mr SA said DS is building me a gin bar but don’t know if this is true.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Popping out of lurkedom to say happy birthday and happy holidays!!
Have you thought about getting a Revolut card? We cross the border and shop in a different currency to we normally use and the exchange rate is really good using Revolut. You can also withdraw euros while you’re away using it. Definitely worth considering for future holidays.7 -

I’ve heard about the Revolut card but not looked into it. We tend to take cash and keep it in the safe only taking out what we need for the day. Worth considering. Apparently cash is king in Zante.
Trying hard to wind down now, got a gin. Alarm is set on my phone for 2am but convinced I won’t wake up in time. It’s a hassle with the early flights but so worth it when you get there well before lunch, especially when you’re only going for a week. Also stressing about this blooming QR code that arrives after 10am.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
