Caring is rewarding when you feel you're making a difference to someone's life and being shown some gratitude and appreciation. All you seem to get is pester, pester, pester and one crisis after another. I really feel for you. I know that his illness is part of the problem but he really does some to be so selfish and unreasonable.
Go have a very large gin and tell him to look after himself today (I know you won't but I wish you could).
Take care.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Just caught up on your diary SA - was sorry to hear about DGD. I do hope everything comes back positive on Monday. (Hugs).I was also initially sorry to hear about Mr SA being unwell but after reading further into your diary I'm afraid my sympathy for him has disappeared. I know he's not well but reading your diary over the years makes me think that he knows what he's doing quite a bit of the time and is just plain devious as you have said. It would be interesting to hear of his reaction if you disappeared to a hotel for a week, although (a) this isn't the right time In the world currently, and (b) god knows if you'd have a house left anyway by the time you got back!I honestly think I would have thrown up my hands in the air by now and left which only goes to show that you are a far, far better person than I'll ever be.I just hope things improve out there so you can at least have your holiday later in the year.Lots of love to you. Thank you everyone for your very kind comments much appreciated 👍
Feeling a bit more positive today. Not done a lot bar going to the local Mr T Express and taking the dog on the park twice.
This afternoon decided to have a pampering afternoon, manicure and pedicure, painted my fingers and toes bright yellow to cheer me up. Listened to Rylan on R2 which always makes me smile and danced in the kitchen to his dance tracks 💃Mr SA still keeping a low profile apart from telling me I had to change the bed sheet halfway through my pampering session 😩 Told him to do it himself, fitted sheet not hard to change. So he did. On checking he had literally just put the clean sheet on top of the bed 😩 Oh well it was a nice try.
Home made pizza, wedges and salad for dinner tonight, Saturday night fakeaway 😁I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
I'm pleased to read that you're feeling brighter today SA. Pampering and dance session in the kitchen sounds the way to go!😀
I'm not commenting on the sheet saga.....🤐Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

He claims not to be able to change bed linen. I wouldn’t mind but I only changed the sheet a couple of days ago and the fact it’s soiled is down to him 😩 It’s almost a full time job cleaning/tidying up after him.On a more positive note, doing Insanity again tomorrow morning. I must be crazy 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

You probably have tried but what if would happen if you don’t buy his beer until weekend and when it’s gone it’s gone.I think caring short term can be rewarding when the person appreciates it - I did it a few years with my mum after a very bad stroke but my dad was around to help some of the time. But you’ve been doing it long term and there’s no respite from it with no appreciation for what you do. At the moment you’ve not got your get away moments and you’ve had your holidays cancelled. Plus you must be worried about the little ones results. I’m not surprised you’re feeling so low....and as for the bucket you found....no words. Does he not remember because of the illness, drink or just doesn’t want to admit it. I’m pleased you had a pamper session - well deserved.

A huge congratulations on graduating from C25K 🥳. Are you tempted by the 10K? I’m only on week 5, so week 9 still seems a distance away.
Sorry to read about the bucket episode. Are you able to get any respite time? Hope you enjoy your Insanity time tomorrow.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Goodness you have had a few tough days and hopefully the news about your DGD on Monday will be positive. If Mr SA is now soiling beds my vote would be for you to get your own bed rather than share his. I know he cant help it (unless drinking too much alcohol aggravates his incontinence) but still dire for you. Glad you managed to have a pampering session.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
