I dont think it is herons as we netted the fish pond after we had a visit fom one or more and lost the lot.The 8 were to replace them. Most people round here know we have a pond and we have wondered if some of them came from someone who was either overstocked or filling in their pond. It is a mystery but they are all in good health and seem happy enough.

You’re very lucky then ladyholly. They’ve obviously found a good home with you wherever they’ve come from.
DD has finally emerged from her room and talking. I’m used to this, it’s how she is. Thankfully she’s back at work tomorrow.Have roasted some veg for a lasagne and some more for a root veg mash. More veg in the slow cooker along with some split peas for a stew. Using the last slice of nut roast from the freezer for my dinner tonight along with more veg.Desk coming tomorrow, looking forward to setting it up with the monitor provided by work which will make working from home so much easier.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
I feel like I don’t understand if anything’s changed from tonight’s speech from the PM. So I’ll still be staying home as much as I can unless I need to go to the shops. I don’t have a car so won’t be going far. Better to be safe than sorry.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)10

I think that for most people it shouldn't change. Stay home unless you need to go out. So for those of us who can work from home, then work from home. If you can get food delivered then don't go shopping. If you have a garden then go out for exercise if you need to, but leave the sunbathing and picnicing in parks to those who have no other inside space. After all, anything additional they are saying you can do is only with members of your own household anyway.
I suspect they'll end up needing to clarify things as people get it wrong. But the safest thing is still to minimise exposure for yourself, and avoid doing anything that might put pressure on emergency services, NHS and other keyworkers or put them at additional risk.

My garden is very high up and yesterday I noticed someone on the estate at the back but down in the dip (if that makes sense) had a visit from son and grandkids and he was hugging the grandkids. We’re always going to get people not sticking to the rules unfortunately. Pleased to say I won’t be one of these people. I want us all to be out of this but not until it’s safe.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

The rules aren't easy to stick to are they? I know my mum is lonely and misses me and my brother and the kids. But she's 300 miles away and behaving herself! We'd go up if there was a problem, but I'm not driving 300 miles to take shopping when her neighbours are looking after her, even if both of us are isolating and so in theory pose no risk to each other. Having said that, I've been unwell and unless my test (which I need to do tomorrow, as part of a research project) is negative, then I could still be infectious. I'm enjoying the peace and quiet - I like being on my own (it's why I live alone) and while I like seeing my colleagues and friends, I'm perfectly happy talking to them on the phone and don't feel a desperate need for face-to-face contact. Oddly no one seems to believe me!10

I’m glad your mum is being looked after by neighbours @greenbee. Hopefully your test is negative. I’m an only child and more than capable of entertaining myself as much as I enjoy meeting up with friends so I can well believe you.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

Thanks @Sun_Addict. I'm hardly ever at home - usually on a plane or in a hotel or an airport lounge - so used to being on my own even if surrounded by people. I'm enjoying the peace of being at home, in my own space, able to do my own thing. Quite happy with a book and pottering about in the house and garden11
