So pleased there's been good news from Mr SA's scans! It's a trial about the incontinence though - a lot to be said for mop-able floors but that's a big upheaval as well as cost (and I would want to put a cosy thick rug by my side of the bed). The incontinence pants (or pads, which can be more substantial) might limit the damage even if they didn't solve everything, and there are also protective pads (disposable and washable) that can go over the bed. There is medication that can be given to limit eneuresis though I think they are meant to be taken after the last drink of the day so there might be problems policing that. You could have a chat with your GP, perhaps.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

For OH I use Tena for Men Premium level 4, and there is a higher level. They are very good for absorbing and look and feel like underpants, which may reconcile Mr SA into wearing them. Definitely worth a try. I buy from ebay, as it's generally cheaper.
Failing that have you thought about the long clear plastic runners that people use over their carpets, usually in hallways? I think they have prongs or something that stick into the carpet so they don't move about. Use an electric carpet shampooer first and then lay those down when it's dry.... cheaper than getting hard flooring anyway.
It must be extremely upsetting dealing with Mr SA. ((((hugs))))I Believe.....

Glad to hear Mr SA scans results were ok and he is on yearly visits. You are doing really well with all your walking, how long before you can be in the gym ? Have no idea about the incontinence , but people have suggested a few ideas , I guess you just have to deal with it in the moment.Enjoy your well deserved afternoon with your friends .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.7

Thank you all for your suggestions, much appreciated. I’ve seen some washable incontinence boxer shorts which would be good. It’s getting him to admit he has a problem that’s difficult. The disinfectant appears to have done the trick and the smell seems to have gone, although I’m hoping that I haven’t gone nose blind and got used to it.So looking forward to my secret day off tomorrow.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

Must be hard for you since he doesn’t have the usual emotions.Have you thought of getting a van carpet cleaner or hiring one of the rug doctor machines. They are fantastic but heavy to get upstairs- my dh carried it up for me as I couldn’t manage it. You can buy a rug doctor de-odourising liquid from places that hire out the machines. I’ve used the liquid many times by wiping/mopping it and rinsing after and it really does get rid if smells - but is much better when used with the machine.Enjoy your day tomorrow 👍January spends - £587.589

The Tena pads that Chrystal suggested appear good. If they're very much like boxers he might not mind wearing them. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

If this is fairly new have you considered a UTI? It can make very little difference to someones temperature unlike most infections but can have a really devastating effect including incontinence. Some tongue in cheek consolation - at least you only have to deal with the clean up and not with him being really upset at what has just happened.8
