Not a proper cyclist though Buffy, just an aggressive bloke who just happens to have a bikeI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Too many cyclists (or people who ride a bike) think its fine to ride on the pavements. What they dont seem to realise is that bikes are fairly silent and you dont hear them coming from behind. We have to cross a bridge which has a narrow pavement when out with the dogs and as I have 2 dogs I take up quite a lot of the space (come to think of it I take up a lot of sace without the dogs:rotfl:), On principle we spread ourselves as far as possible but the number of people who try to get past is unbelievable. As someone who used to cycle a lot it annoys the heck out of me. If you dont want to cycle on the road push your bike. Sorry for the rant it is one of my bugbears.0

Great to hear about Mr SA's good news and your gym membership - what a boost on both counts.:j:jI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Happy Friday
Finished work early today, still feel a little out of sorts after yesterday's incident to be honest. Every scruffy gaunt man on a bike I'm scanning his face to see if it's him. On the way to work there's an old pub converted to rooms and I could've sworn I saw him outside there smoking. I'm not scared I'm angry.
Anyway have done holiday stuff: booked Mr SA's special assistance at the airport, booked his mobility scooter hire and booked us into the airport lounge. Mr SA needs a new suitcase, his old one ripped and we put it in DD's skip. We've had a disagreement as he wants a hold-all and I want him to have a suitcase on wheels as I'm the one who has to manoeuvre the cases.
Mr SA is jealous of my free gym pass and thinks it should've gone to him so he could use it for swimming!! Reminded him it's for carers to get some me time. I told his consultant about him losing the ability to swim and he suggested swimming lessons. He said he may never get back to his previous standards but could improve. So after holiday I'm going to look into this for him - I know our local leisure centre do them for disabled people.
Plans for this weekend are to relax more than anything, will go to WW tomorrow but no GKs this weekend so will be a quiet one hopefully.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Belated HB to you,
Pleased about gym membership - presuming close enough for you to get to.
I hope you have a relaxing weekend as the man on bike incident sounds horribleAs a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

Thanks BM - gym is about 20 minutes walk away, not too bad but as the nights draw in - hmm. Even if I only use it once a week, it's free so will take advantage while I can.
Sometimes I get so annoyed as everyone assumes you have a carI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
So sorry and angry to hear about the debacle with the cyclist SA! can only echo Uncanny's comments. So this twerp can intimidate a petite woman and disabled person, but clears off when somebody bigger intervenes! What a kn!b!:mad::mad:
And I utterly agree with Gemini's comments - and your dog's attitude! Unless they are small children, cyclists should be on the road!
I'm so pleased to hear Mr SA's good news and also about the gym! Very typical though of Mr SA to be jealous about the gym pass!
I don't drive so totally understand where you are coming from about the car.

That's actually really scary about the abusive cyclist/druggie SA, well done for telling him to *beep* off. I wouldn't blame you if you did feel a bit scared after that, these things are really intimidating.
I remember walking to work very early one day (about 5:30am) a few years ago now and it was still dark and some men thinking it was funny to shout suggestive things at me. It actually really scared me as there wasn't really anyone else about. I know they probably wouldn't have done anything and were just drunk idiots but I was really nervous about walking to work after that, although it was only a 5/10 min walk. Some men just don't understand how vulnerable these things make you feel as a female (and some understand all too well, which is why they do it.)
Hope you get the use out of your gym pass, you deserve it.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -

Best win so far - holiday to Florida0 -
Thanks for your kind comments xx
I've booked in for an exercise class at 9am tomorrow morning - HIT/Abs and the Rave Fit on Friday so far. I thought the pass was just for one day a week but it's for every day which is fab. I timed myself and it's only a 15 minute walk. Unfortunately on the way back it's up an extremely steep hill. Where I live is very hilly but the views are great, you can see for miles.
Went to WW this morning fully expecting to have gained due to birthday and bank holiday over consumption of gin, wine and food. Shocked to find out I'd lost 2lbs! Not sure how this happened. This means I'm 4lbs under goal which will do nicely for holiday purposes. Just need to keep it off now.
Not a lot else going on, will have to do cleaning up and finances tomorrow. Mr SA is sat watching TV with his sunglasses on for some reason.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
