Well that's the weekend more or less done in a flash!
Hope everyone's having a good one and the weather is nice where you are. Weather was glorious here yesterday but it's been hazy today, although warm.
Went to WW yesterday, stayed the same, still 2lbs under goal, happy with that. DS and the GKs came yesterday. GS was being a pain getting eggs out of the fridge and smashing them on the patio "to get the chicks out"
He took DD's last ice lolly out of the freezer too, although she didn't mind. DD was playing hide and seek with them which they loved - DD is just like a big kid at 32!!!
Trip to Aldi this morning for Mr SA's all terrain sandals - he loves them but the pester has started up again for the cordless hedge trimmer that he spotted in next week's in the middle of Lidl magazine. He keeps saying they're "only" £50 - yes I'm going to magic up an extra £50 just like that - he doesn't have a clue. He also picked up two pairs of shorts which are going back tomorrow as they're far too small.
Haven't been able to do finances today as I updated the spreadsheet on my work computer and forgot to send it back to myself. It's all up to date as of Thursday so not much to add. It's the last week of the budget next week so a tight one. Thankfully it's payday on Friday
Looking back on what I wanted to achieve last week:
Find a window cleaner - still not done. Need to ask on local FB page for recommendations.
Register for a carer's card with theatre - done.
Sort out savings accounts - done.
Get a quote for dog insurance before renewal date - not done as more than a month away from renewal date and they don't quote that far ahead. Got a few rough ideas. Roll forward 2 weeks.
Next week's jobs:
1. Open regular saver account on payday.
2. Find a window cleaner.
3. Take winter coats to dry cleaners.
4. Take winter throw to launderette to wash in huge machine as doesn't fit in mine.
Realised yesterday we still had the winter duvet on the bed, no wonder it's been so hot! Now got the summer one on.
Meal plan done for the week ahead:
Tonight: fish pie with herby cauliflower mash
Work lunches: spicy lentil and chickpea soup with seeded flatbread (4 days), tuna salad sandwich thin (the remaining day)
Breakfast: fruit and 0% natural yoghurt (I'm not a breakfast person this is about all I can stomach first thing)
Monday: Veggie scampi, swede chips and veg
Tuesday: Butternut squash, chickpea and spinach curry with mini naan
Wednesday: Salmon, stir fry veg
Thursday: Aubergine chilli with cauli rice
Friday: Tuna, quinoa stuffed pepper, veg
Saturday: pizza, wedges and salad - fakeaway night

That's Monday done again. The weeks are flying by.
Manically busy at work with my co-worker on holiday, still it keeps me out of mischief.
Have booked a week off towards the end of July, not told Mr SA yet as he will start planning my week out for me.
NSD today, run in the gym at lunchtime. Not AFD as there is a tiny bit of wine left over from the weekend which I'm sipping very slowly to savour
Took Mr SA's too small shorts back to Lidl and got a refund.
Not a lot else going off today, typical Monday really.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Here I am

The week just flew by, so busy.
Anyway have lost 1.5lb at WW, taking me to 3.5 under goal
I'm thinking of applying for another job a grade higher and £6k a year more than I get now. Job spec is more or less what I'm doing now just more money. Same employer just different office. Wouldn't hurt to have a go.
Weather has been so hot here today. Not done a lot, just relaxing in the sun. Forecast cooler tomorrow so will do the cleaning then.
Opened the regular saver account so am committed to saving £250 a month for a year
Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the sun

Well done on the weight loss SA :T.
Definitely go for the promotion. They obviously value you at work so you stand a good chance I should think

That certainly sounds as though you should try for it. It would help with that saver account too!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The job application isn't simple as all applications are anonymised and your application has to really stand out. However they have changed the process now and applications are looked at on your suitability for the role rather than on whether your ability to complete a good application form regardless of whether you can do the job. It's worth a try though, I've certainly got the skills and experience it's just getting that through on the application. It's my goal to get to the next grade up before I retire in 2027.
Got to catch up on my cleaning today as it fell by the wayside yesterday, I was enjoying the sun too much
Looking back at last week's to do list:
1. Open regular saver account on payday - done
:money:
2. Find a window cleaner - done
:j
3. Take winter coats to dry cleaners - not done
4. Take winter throw to launderette to wash in huge machine as doesn't fit in mine - not done
3 and 4 will be rolled over to the week I'm off as going up to the launderette is quite time-consuming and I'm in no rush for the winter stuff just yet. Added to this list is take the winter duvet to the launderette.
Don't faint but Mr SA sourced the window cleaner. He saw one when he was out on his scooter and got him to come to our house. Anyway the upshot is it's £9 a month, first clean done and looking so much better already. Means I'll have to clean the inside windows now I suppose :rotfl:
New budgets start tomorrow. Gone over budget by £11.36 overall which isn't too bad but the goal is to be under budget so must do better.
Need to do meal plan for next week and finish doing finances.
Have a fab day everyone, see you later

Best thing I ever bought was a window vacuum thing, saves so much time - takes minutes to clean the inside windows nowSealed pot challenge 822
