Morning folks

Working from home today, just having an early lunch break. It's great I'm doing loads of washing and pegging it out in between
Not looking forward to the ironing later though.
I've had my healthy heart check, blood pressure was slightly high when the nurse first took it but on the second try a bit later it was ok. Funny thing was it was the same as the reading taken yesterday by British Heart Foundation which they said was high? I pointed this out to the nurse and she said no it's fine. I've had a blood test for diabetes, liver function and cholesterol. They'll call me in a couple of weeks with the results, providing everything is ok they'll call me back in 5 years.
Saw the GP afterwards and showed him my bunion which he agreed needs surgery plus I've got a hammer toe which also needs surgery. I've been referred to a podiatrist and will get a letter with an appointment.
Another job ticked off the list.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Ouch to the thought of surgery for your bunion. I’m very impressed that you can run after your ankle injury and foot troubles.
I’m another that will look into Halifax savings - been meaning to open something since I became dd - if I don’t do something soon I’m in danger of frittering it away on nothingness.January spends - £587.580 -
I want to commit to £250 a month for a year which is the maximum allowed milann. Then when it matures I'll add it to the ISA and open a new monthly saver. I think it will keep me on budget.
In other savings news, I've had 3 more letters from the Coventry - that's 8 in total in the past 3 days (all in separate envelopes). That should be it now as the money has arrived in my new account. I was a tad worried that it had disappeared from the Halifax into the ether but it's landed complete with the princely sum of £19.57 interest
So my emergency fund is now £3279.57. First mini target is to get it up to £3300, ideally by the end of the year back to the £4000 it was this time last year. Overall target is £10k but that ain't gonna to happen anytime soon :rotfl:
Mr SA doesn't know about the ISA he'd be planning on how to spend it if he knew. The less he has to do with finances the better - this isn't a new thing it's always been the same. Finances are not his forte.
Mr SA has done nothing but shuffle from room to room, into the garden and back again but hasn't actually done anything. He's taken the dog out on the scooter 5 times already, it's like he can't settle. DD has done nothing but moan about the broadband speed in her room and is speaking with a forked tongue about download speeds which mean nothing to me. This is the downside of working from home I'm afraid.
Low spend day today £1.70.
Friday tomorrow and the plan is to finish when I've done 6 hours :jI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
The ISA is off to a good start then!
I have a picture in my head of you and the dog rolling your eyes at each other behind the others' backs. Am I right?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)
