  • I'm glad you had a good Christmas SA. I like Love Actually too.

I know what you mean about missing exercise and healthy food. I was glad to eat normally today.

Happy Friday - had to think about what day it is :)

I'm going to message my friend today to see when she wants to meet up as I'm running out of days off now. It'll have to be an afternoon, Mr SA sleeps all afternoon anyway so he won't even notice me missing. If this is an indication of what retirement is going to be like then I'm not retiring. Got 8 years yet so thankfully not imminent.

We'll have to go to the launderette today, should be the last time as the washer is being fixed next Wednesday.

I bought a gorgeous lamp from QVC in the summer, it's really unusual, they've recalled it :( Sent me a bag to return it in yesterday, said danger of electric shocks if you touch it. Will get a refund plus £10 credit to my account. Gutted :(

Talking of QVC, I forgot I'd got some Yankee Candles on repeat buy, so I've got the Spring collection on it's way. Had the winter ones about September time so assumed I hadn't ticked the repeat buy box. This is where my money disappears, odd bits and bobs like this. I will admit QVC is my weakness, I don't watch it on TV though, I just tap the app. I've had some fab stuff though - real bargains.

The fridge freezer has started playing up, actually it's been doing it for a while, but it's making weird noises now. Hoping it'll last a bit longer until I save up for a new one. There's always something :(

Have a good day folks xx

  • I hope you manage to sneak and and meet your friend today, and that the fridge freezer lasts a lot longer.

I've texted her HH but no reply yet. I could see her any day apart from Monday.

Been to the launderette hopefully for the last time. Three loads at £3.40 each plus the cost of two coffees and a sausage ciabatta for Mr SA. Expensive do. He wanted to stop off at the local pub on the way back - what with three bags of wet washing, I don't think so!

Just contacted the doctors as still not received Mr SA's medical exemption card. Dropped off the form last month, they can't find it!!!!! Brilliant - his card runs out at the end of this month :( Honestly our doctors is rubbish :(

I've just heard from my friend and I'm meeting her on Sunday. Not told Mr SA yet. She's managed to somehow get herself a job while she's here even though she's on holiday so can't meet until late afternoon. I don't care if Mr SA protests, I've known her longer than I've known him and she only gets over here every few years. Plus I'm desperate for a decent conversation after being cooped up with Mr SA for a week.

When she was over about 4 years ago, she wanted to meet up on a Saturday night, Mr SA insisted on coming and said he would sit quietly in a corner with a pint and he would watch the football match (think it was the World Cup or something). He didn't, he sat with us and totally monopolised the whole evening, asking her stupid questions about Australia and insisting we bought all her drinks. I never got a chance to catch up with her properly and it cost a fortune. So I won't fall for that one again.

It really annoys me that he won't let me go anywhere without him unless it's work. I wouldn't mind but I'm on my own all afternoon while he sleeps or watches Top Gear.

We were told they don’t supply cards anymore SA. We did have one but when it ran out they said just tick the appropriate box in future Xx
