Happy Christmas Eve 🎄 

Still waiting for news. I can’t believe this has happened so close to Christmas. I’ve no idea what we’re doing today just going to play it by ear. I need to go out for a paper but nothing else. 

I feel so helpless not being able to get over there to help out, I wish we lived closer. DIL’s mum, brothers and sisters are local though so they’re not on their own. She has loads of friends too so they won’t be short of support. 

Exercise will be a live ClubFit class in an hour’s time and dog walking. 

Presents are all wrapped, had to hide them from the dog as she thinks they’re all for her. 

Tonight’s dinner is beetroot burger, sweet potato fries and salad. Trying Lidl’s own make beetroot burger, normally get them from Aldi so will see if they taste the same. I often wonder if their things come from the same manufacturer as they have identical products. The vegan sausages are really nice, tried a couple the other night.

I think we're all waiting with you...

It's hard not being able to do something practical especially when there's child care involved, but being an 'older generation' (meaning benefitting from life experience) comes into its own here. You are in a position to understand what the family is going through and be able to assure them they can get through. You have Mr SA to keep an eye on, and the hospital is looking after DIL but you are the voice on the end of the phone who can offer steadiness (even if you don't feel it).

Hang on in there, and here's hoping for good news soon.
