Well done on your Duolingo - I thought I was doing well but you're two hundred days ahead of me! I haven't tried Duolingo Plus since they changed the layout. Do you still get free practice?

Every time you hit a milestone you get the paid for version for free for 3 days. You don’t lose any hearts or have to watch ads so it’s a great opportunity to progress. Personally I wouldn’t pay for it as it does what I need it to do, I spend less than 30 minutes a day on it. I didn’t like the new layout at first but I do now.

It's been so long since I found a milestone! :D I hope when I do it's not at a time when I'm too busy to progress.

I think I probably spend 15-20 minutes on average, but I try to use the facility in the game to get extra points by playing morning and evening, and I think that extra exposure to the language is making quite a difference.

I'm with you on not paying - if I'm losing lives all over the place, I reckon I'm too tired to study. So what's the point of paying for time I can't utilise effectively?

And the new layout... it's weird that I'm reading stories again that I covered ages ago, now supposedly teaching more advanced skills.

    Happy Saturday 🥂

I’ve been really busy today hence the late update. This morning did the live ClubFit session but had IT issues with my iPad so had to resort to using my phone which wasn’t ideal given the difference in size. It seems others had issues with Zoom and their iPads so not just me.

Then I took the dog for a run on the park.

Then I went to the big Mr T for a few bits and also bought the first Christmas present - a bottle of Jack Daniels on offer so that’s DS’s present sorted.

After that had a browse round the local high street charity shops on the way home. I just bought a book for 30p nothing else. One thing that puzzles me is how come they always have so many pairs of large size extremely high heeled shoes, where do they all come from 🤔

Then after lunch DS and the GKs visited. We were originally going to go to a local park’s Christmas craft fair but because Mr SA is still without his scooter we couldn’t go.

Mr SA has phoned Motability and complained he’s been housebound for over a week. They phoned the shop and the shop offered to pay for a taxi to get him out but that’s not the point he wants to just pootle around locally. Anyway Motability will refund him rental costs for the period he’s without. Mr SA with his dubious recall of information said the shop are waiting for parts from Russia. I said but I thought we weren’t having dealings with Russia 🤔 Then he said it might be China or somewhere like that.

After DS left I had to go out and fetch milk as Mr SA forgot to tell me we’d run out. On the plus side I also got a loaf of Hovis wholemeal bread reduced from £1.60 to 51p - seriously who on earth pays £1.60 for a loaf 😱

Just cooking pizza, wedges and salad for dinner then it’s feet up with a glass or two of pink cava and Strictly.

Re the high heels, try googling transformation ltd.  It will be an education.  A very long time ago I used to work in the offices & occasionally had to go across to the shop.  On one occasion I bumped into a very butch french maid in very high heels.
