@Sun_Addict i feel for you re the prescription! No doubt you've tried this and it depends on having someone competent available. I had a similar situation where one particular receptionist at the doctors kept on blocking urgent stiff, inc my daughter's ADHD meds with A levels looming! I went in and talked to another receptionist and explained what had been going on, saying that i didn't want to get anyone into trouble but this was totally unacceptable; she agreed. The problem receptionist seems to have undergone remedial training and I feel much better. Is there anyone in either place you could talk to or maybe it's a job for patient liaison? I think all surgeries are supposed to have these groups. What's the practice manager like? Your situation could be the catalyst for a big push forward.   Sorry if I'm suggesting things you've already done a thousand times! Love Humdinger xx

PS just wanted to say how essential some me-time is for you.  Understand that it's delicate but does Mr SA know this? Xx

I once sat in a doctors waiting room for a couple of hours until the practice manager came to find out what the issue was. The receptionist tried to tell me that he wasn't available. I said I'd sit there all week until he was available. I had a good book with me, and a packed lunch.

Maybe Mr SA could sit in your doctors waiting room and say some of his inappropriate things? You'd probably have to leave a letter describing all the extremely stressful times you have had to fight to get Mr SA's prescription lately.

Would he go along with that, whilst you go and visit the local coffee shop, or would he follow you out?
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

I find a formal letter by snail mail to the practce manager brings results but you may have problems in that they will want to s[eak to Mr SA if they ring you. If that doesnt work go to the NHS website about who and how to complain.

Oh SA - what a palaver with the meds!  Our surgery is pretty useless admin wise but at least I can order my meds on-line and it goes straight through to the local Boots who are competent!  An elderly friend of mine who isn't online at all has been having terrible problems trying to get an appointment with the doctor though....☹️

Thank you all. Still not sorted it out. According to the NHS app he can’t request it until the 15th so will see if I can request it then. It’s so frustrating the doctors say you can order it online but when you go on their website you have to ring the surgery to access the ordering system. Then it says you can order via the NHS app but that says he doesn’t have a repeat prescription. The chemists say they can no longer request prescriptions from our doctors. Phoned the doctors, was in a queue for ages then got through to a receptionist, I couldn’t understand her accent and kept having to ask her to repeat what she said, then she cut me off. Rang back only to be back in the queue so gave up. I’m hoping I can request it for him on Monday via the NHS app, if not I’ll have to go through the whole rigmarole again.

No point complaining to the practice manager as she is a nasty piece of work. Heard her shouting on the phone to a patient when we went for our flu jabs last year and she was being extremely unprofessional.

My DD is with the same doctors and has no problems whatsoever getting her meds.

Finished work at 1pm and have mainly been relaxing in the garden reading.

Checked in online on Jet2 website and now have boarding passes - 10 days to go!
My husband has similar problems with ordering repeat prescriptions in connection with his heart surgery  last year with conflicting information on the chemists online ordering app and the NHS app.  As  we are away for a month in September  he tried to get a longer prescription than the 15 days they keep prescribing.  In the end he did an e consult straight to the doctor who prescribed a months worth so he had enough for us going away.  Two days later they write to him saying he no longer needs to take them anyway.  Goodness only knows what the NHS is doing at the moment but the right hand definitely does not know what the left hand is doing. The receptionists in our surgery are not helpful.

Thankfully my surgery is too incompetent to notice that I am ordering our 28 day ones every 26 & our 56 day ones every 54.  At least it gives us some back up for when they throw a wobbler.  Otherewise we would have had a couple of times in the last year when either me or DS would have been without.  It never used to be this rubbish before they were taken over.

Morning all, up very early for a Saturday 🤫 Trying very hard to be quiet and not wake Mr SA up but the cats started fighting in the hall and making a racket so he’s got the TV on now. Hoping he nods back off. My clothes are in the spare room so I can get dressed in there without disturbing him.

The plan is to catch a bus around 7.30, it’s one of those buses that go everywhere first so it takes forever to get there but should be there just after 8am. Probably quicker to walk 😆

To be honest if he’s awake I might just tell him I’m nipping to pick up something for holiday that I can’t get in town or online. I desperately need a couple of bikini tops but I want to see them first. I ordered a couple online that I’m not happy with, they reveal too much! I was thinking of getting a couple of sports crop tops or similar.

I’ve made a mental note to do my holiday clothes shopping in Lanzarote as they have a lot more choice and it’s so much cheaper there. Hopefully we’ll be going again in April.

Rose cava already in the fridge for tonight. Beetroot burger, sweet potato wedges and salad night yum.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
