Glad pothole has been sorted out. A problem that has been an issue in the village I live in is overgrown hedgerows. We have a visually impaired resident who walks with his guide dog. Somebody recently saw the dog fall off the pavement into a main road as the hedgerow had overgrown that much there wasn’t enough room on the pavement for both the gentleman and his dog. A post was put on the village fb page asking anyone that has such a hedge can they cut them back, the person was also notifying the village council and local council. Hope the take notice and action.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.002

Mr SA has been to view the pothole and it’s been properly filled in with tarmac.I’ve managed to fix his phone by taking out the sim card, clearing the cache and resetting it. He’s disappointed because he wanted a new phone - he hasn’t had this one a year yet 😩
Ended up spending as I went to big Mr T for the potatoes I forget to pick up yesterday. As it’s payday treated myself to a new gin on offer - Greenall’s Tropical Fruit £16 for a litre. Looking forward to sampling that later. I’ve got some frozen orange, lime and lemon slices in the freezer to go in it 😋I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Oooh, do leave a review of the gin @Sun_Addict - my favourite flavoured one is the seville orange variety, but I'm always up to trying a newbie.

I used Linda McCartney vegetarian chorizo and red pepper sausages instead of chorizo, cooked them first and sliced them up. You can replace the sherry vinegar for red wine vinegar.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Good news about the pothole. Bet they’re relieved you’re not taking it further…..but the next person might not be so amenable.January spends - £587.582

The gin is lovely @foxgloves, very tangy. I was a bit unsure whether I’d like it because one of the flavours is pineapple. I love fresh pineapple but don’t like pineapple juice - it tastes more like grapefruit and orange to me. So it has passed the test 👍I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Overgrown hedges i one of my bugbears. We have am elderly lady that is visually impaired who walks regularly usually with someone but sometime on her own and some of the hedges round here almost block the pavement. We also have trees whose branches are so low I have to duck under them and they are council ones. The worst thing though is brambles at the edges of the pavements just where the dogs walk.

We also have very narrow pavements with blackberry, buddleia and other bushes blocking the pavements. Sometimes Mr SA can only just get his scooter past without going off the edge. We also have lots of tree lined roads where the tree roots have created huge bumps in the pavement. All down to lack of council money to maintain I expect.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Happy Saturday 🥂
I need to go to the local shops for a paper and bread this morning, shouldn’t be a spendy trip as there are no interesting shops round here, you couldn’t go on a spending spree that’s for sure 😆
I need to source some extra long sunbed towels online as the hotel we’re going to have bought some lovely new cushions for their sunbeds but they apparently get red hot in the sun so we’ll need longer towels if we don’t want to burn! Not that Mr SA uses sunbeds much as he struggles to get back up.Exercise will be live ClubFit in an hour’s time and dog walking on the park.
DS and the GKs are coming later.Tonight’s dinner is chickpea, tomato and spinach curry, an old favourite from Joe Wicks veggie cookbook, it will use up the rest of the spinach bought for Thursday’s butter bean stew recipe. Mr SA is having slow cooker beef madras.Prosecco from the delivery from work last week is in the fridge - so free drink tonight 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Dinner sounds good.
We are just working on a Plan B for tonight's dinner for if the rain doesn't stop!2
