I've seen an advert for coffee pods that are basically the misshapen ones and therefore discounted. Can I remember the name? Of course not. Perhaps someone else has come across them? Aha - googled and it's something like odd coffee, though I'm sure the pods are the odd bit, not the contents.
I've not tried them but they seem to be popular enough to make a business out of them.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

They are called Odd Coffee Co, great idea but they only fit Nespresso machines. Lidl and Aldi do cheap pods but also only fit Nespresso. Maybe I should get a Nespresso machine when my Tassimo dies 🤔Cherryfudge said:I've seen an advert for coffee pods that are basically the misshapen ones and therefore discounted. Glad Mr SA is ok after his fall.
Thankfully neither of us is fussy about our coffee. We are both happy with an instant in the morning, not the really cheap stuff though, and a filter coffee if we are at home at the weekend.3 -
I don't really get the point of NSDs and have never counted them. We just try to keep within a monthly budget although I do try and only go grocery shopping twice a week. If we need fuel though or have a free day and want to go out I wouldn't try to not spend and just delay to another day. Do people not count direct debits either? Every so often my starling app says I spent nothing that day as it does a daily tally and I admit I like that so accept for some people it may work.Sun_Addict said:
That’s what I used to then I joined the NSD challenge thread. I find sometimes I end up spending more on the spending days. Then there’s people on there getting 20 plus as they don’t count groceries but that’s still spending in my book.milann said:The cat certainly likes her 🐸. Pleased to hear Mr SA is ok.
I found the NSDs didn’t work for me after a while. If I’d spent I’d be tempted to carry on spending. If I had to spend on what should have been a NSD I felt very depleted. I’m better tallying as I go and seem to have more NSDs 👍I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I used to buy the pods off eBay or Amazon in packs of 50 , could sometimes get really good deals on themSealed pot challenge 822

I used to buy in bulk from Amazon but the price went up. They have some good deals at the moment but still cheaper to get from Mr M with the staff discount.dawnybabes said:I used to buy the pods off eBay or Amazon in packs of 50 , could sometimes get really good deals on themI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
20K steps!! I think I've only ever achieved that twice....once when I was leafleting for an election (for some reason I was given posh roads to do with long drives!) & once when we were camping in North Norfolk & got a bit carried away exploring the coastal marshes. On both occasions, I thought my feet were about to fall off!

You couldn’t make this afternoon up 😩
Rang Mr SA to tell him I was on my way home from work and could he meet me at Lidl to pick up the shopping. Apparently he had just fallen in the pond and was getting changed out of his wet clothes 😳Anyway, he arrived to pick up the bags, I took the dog off him, and we started making our way home. The next thing I knew his scooter had tipped up sideways and he was on his side in the road - a busy main road! Fortunately a motorcyclist and 2 van drivers stopped and got him and the scooter back up. His scooter wheel had caught a huge deep pothole in the pavement resulting in the tumble. His knee is cut and he’s very shaken having still been shaken from his fall in the pond.
I’ve taken photos and sent off a complaint to the council. Now he’s just informed me his phone isn’t dialling out because it’s wet. Fortunately it’s insured but still 😞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Oh my goodness, @Sun_Addict. What an afternoon! I'm not surprised Mr SA is feeling shaky after two falls. I'm glad those people stopped to help you both, & you must definitely get that pothole reported to the council. It sounds as though it was an accident waiting to happen.
