Mr SA still isn’t right with his biopsy site and he’s in pain. He rang the doctors this morning but it took him ages to get through. They offered him an appointment in 3 weeks time. He said it was urgent and was told to ring back tomorrow after 8am. Which is what he did this morning but he couldn’t get through 🤬

This is how people slip through the net and don’t get seen until it’s too late. The thing is he’s meant to be a priority patient because of his medical history.

If he doesn't get an appointment tomorrow morning call and ask to speak to the practice manager. A couple of years ago when I had a very bad leg injury but volunteered to do the daily dressings myself at home I had to sort out the prescription of the correct dressings with the practice manager several times. The poor woman must have been sick of the sight of me during the 4 months that it took my leg to heal but she was always helpful and she got things done.

Do you not have a walk in centre locally that he can be seen at?

He finally got through and the receptionist told him sorry no appointments ring 111. He rang 111 and they said he needed to see a doctor and would get him a "special appointment". The upshot is he has a phone consultation with the GP later this afternoon.

I've been in the office most of the day, back home now.

    Today is NSD 5/10.

Exercise is walking to and from work 17,000 steps so far.

A terribly roundabout way of getting a consultation. :( I hope it's helpful.

    Garlic pizza sounds good!

Mr SA has been prescribed antibiotics despite the GP not actually seeing him in person. He couldn’t pick them up today as our local chemist closes Thursday afternoons 😐

To be honest he’s been a right PITA this afternoon, shuffling backwards and forwards with his clicky stick demanding comfort food for his dinner and moaning at me when I was practicing my Spanish - how dare I do anything for myself when I could be peeling him grapes 😡

He said he’d watered the greenhouse plants but when I went to check they were dry as a bone and wilting so I had to do it.

Sorry for the moan but sometimes I get so fed up of having to do absolutely everything as well as work full time.

You have my sympathy. I know its not a lot of help but you have it anyway. It must be so difficult having no opportunity to do things for you in peace.
