Really sorry about the job. I have had pointed interviews before I hate them - one for a job that I had done before and had a career break !Is it worth asking the boss who has asked you to apply for the next job what they are looking for like key words …. Which gain points - especially if he wants you.Can I say dear Luna gave me some real giggles on what is a very grey dayAs a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

Sorry to hear about the job application. What happened to good old fashioned going with your gut who you think can do the job rather then daft made up questions. The kitten is a wee menace2

It’s a shame they no longer want to talk to you about your experience and what you can bring to the role. The interviewers say the questions aren’t designed to catch you out but I think a fair few would beg to differ. It’s all subjective too as what one person thinks is a good response another won’t.Not particularly thrilled at having to go through it all again but if you don’t try you don’t get. The bloke it’s working for won’t be able to give me any pointers, that wouldn’t be fair to the other candidates and he’d get into trouble.
The kitten is the naughtiest pet I’ve ever owned. Even the dog was better behaved as a puppy, she never destroyed anything. She’s into everything, you can’t leave anything lying around. I caught her drinking my water out of a glass earlier.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
The veggie slow cooker stew is lovely, no recipe just bunged things in that needed using up. Finished off the very out of date Pearl barley and it tastes fine. Had a portion with 2 veggie sausages and there are 4 more portions for in the week lunches, maybe freeze a couple.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

I had a cat who would sit on top of the toilet cistern and yell for his mug to be filled up from the bathroom sink … he loved water from glasses
current cat loves milk will stick her head in a mug with milk waiting for the teapot to brew or use her paw to tip it over ….As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

I think some big companies need to use those algorhythms because they promote too many people beyond their capabilities, so they just work on a tick box exercise which prevents someone who actually knows what they are doing getting promoted. Cynical moi! Never. My ex-husband used to say that the co he worked for promoted people out of trouble & from the ones I saw he was spot on. Not often you catch me agreeing with that man!

There are some very odd ways of deciding who gets promotion these days. Sorry to hear you didnt get the job but will keep my fingers crossed.I once had an interview 2 days after a general anaesthetic. They wouldnt delay it for a few days to apparently to be fair to everyone however it wasnt really fair to me as my brain wasnt really functioning.Strangely enough I didnt get the job.6

Happy Tuesday and Happy Burns Night to Scottish readers 😁
Mr M delivery arrived earlier, no missing items or subs.
Got a 3 hour meeting this morning, not looking forward to that 😴 Not sure I can sit for that long without falling asleep although I'm notetaking so that might keep me awake.
Today's exercise is dog walking and a WW live resistance band session after work. If I have time I might be able to fit in a lunchtime legs, bums and tums session, depends what time the meeting finishes.
Tonight's dinner is Thai green veggie curry, using up a kaffir lime and ginger stockpot lurking in my store cupboard. Lunch will be a portion of the veggie stew I made yesterday with the very out of date pearl barley.

Sorry about this job - you're obviously in the running though so I suspect your time will come.
In my workplace promotions are few and far between these days (due to wider cost trimming over many years). However it is usually predicted who will get the job well before its even advertised. Its a shame really as it actually serves to devalue that person by making something of a mockery of the long and complicated selection process. There is rarely an argument with the person being good for the job but the pre-determination and waste of others' time detracts from this. And then they complain that they struggle to get external candidates to apply !
How on earth is a 3 hour meeting productive?4
