I have had a dodgy zip on a new coat that kept opening from the bottom. It was a trespass coat a few years back. I returned it, had a new one and returned that too…..so could be a faulty coat……in the end I had a refund.January spends - £587.583

I think it's just the laws of physics. I have the impression that you are a petite, slim person whereas your other half is taller and bulkier. He will put a lot more pressure and stress on a zip than you ever would. Also, zips nowadays are probably made in China by wee, lightweight people who don't comprehend how LARGE many of us in the West are.Sun_Addict said:Mr SA's zip problem is that when he's got his coat on it opens from the bottom. No idea why this keeps happening, it must be something he's doing wrong it never happens to my zips. He's an absolute nightmare.
I'm now very good at snipping out the bottom part of a zip and bodging it back into place.

Hi Lifestartsat40. The most important thing I've learned over the past 2 years is you need to get into a routine. It took me a while to settle down and realise I didn't have to be sat staring at my screen all day. Very important to take regular breaks away from the screen too and have a walk around like you would in the office.Lifestartsat40 said:Hi SA - Ive really enjoyed reading your diary - I was wondering if you could give me some WFH tips? I have always 'gone out' to work - even all throughout the pandemic but I will start a new job in late January which is 100% WFH which is the dream. I like my own company and don't need that office environment, so I don't foresee any issues but you seem to have a lovely balance so hoping to pick up some tips.
Have a lovely Christmas x

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. There's always plenty of room in my coats whereas with Mr SA, they fit where they touch. Mr SA is a foot taller and weighs over 10 stones more than me.Scottiedog_3 said:Sun_Addict said:

I think you need to get a bigger size coat for Mr SA. If the zip encounters any pressure such as when he sits down or moves around they just pull apart. So if a tight fit the zip will give out.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. His coat has been returned. He's now talking about going into town tomorrow and getting a new one while I'm at the funeral. I've told him he might as well wait until after Christmas and get a good one in the sales for the sake of a few days. He has other coats. I don't think he will go into town, he's trying to make me feel guilty about leaving him on his own. I've told him I'm not going on a jolly, it's a funeral.
Took the dog a good long walk at lunchtime so clocked some steps up towards my target.
Using up the last of the veg chili for tonight's dinner, will have with sweet potato wedges. Trying to use up stocks this week.

This is going to sound like a typical "they don't make things like they used to" whinge. But they don't. An MnS anorak zip started to fray within 4 wears & as for the colour, it was supposed to be black but after the first wash it was grey. If I'd bought it from a cheapo shop I wouldn't mind so much but I couldn't because it was a present. I only wear it now to go shopping because it has breast pockets & I try to avoid taking a bag. If someone tried to steal my credit card it would look decidedly odd.
