I had one today which left me completely not understanding the rules. I think I must be having a bad day as I could not get my head around this one when it came to completely it. Returned it after I failed the tests

I did this one, got a £2.67 bonus which I was very happy with! I don't really see what the point of the survey was as (without giving away any details) it boiled down to deciding which of two numbers was higher. I can see why the rules might have looked confusing, it wasn't well explained.

Rate how you feel about different videos

This experiment is a study of emotional feelings.

    The study has two parts:

    (1) You will first need to complete an online experiment (15-20 min). You will watch a series of short videos and rate the difference in your emotional feelings between each pair of videos.

    (2) You will then need to complete a 40-item questionnaire (5-10 min) about your daily emotional experiences.

I had an hour to spare this morning so tried this study but the first problem was that the videos would not play in Firefox (Pavlovia platform), so I switched to Chrome and all seemed well until half way through when the whole thing froze.

I eventually had to close the page and start again and unfortunately it froze once again, so after 45 mins of trying I gave up as I had things to do.

It might have been a problem my end but usually Pavlovia studies are fine but who knows.

Just a word of warning, some of the videos are very graphic and shocking so be prepared!

Edit - Contacted researcher who came back quite quickly and stated he would compensate me for my time, but did not comment on anyone else having problems.

I got paid in full (£4.50) last night, which is jolly descent, I assume they must have received some of my data :)

And tonight is curry night - yipee!

Failed on the test questions! Numerical surveys are not my strongest area. Thought I knew what it expected but obviously wrong!

I’ve had a fair few chatbot ones pop up this afternoon, I haven’t been able to get into any of them, although it says there’s lots of places left. I think there’s just too many people trying to get through to the server at the same time.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    Synthesis of Emotional Speech six

Participants will be listening to original and synthesized audio files from two systems. They are required to rate the audio files based on content, speaker and emotional similarity with the original speech.

Completed this one this morning and there is a button to click that advances to the next page and I found that I had to click it twice for it to advance at all and I noticed that on some occasions the page advanced two positions as there is a visible page/task counter.

I was concerned that I had missed some ratings out, but after completion I was paid very quickly so assume it was meant to be like that, so don't worry if you see the same thing. :)

    English sentence reading task

    By leeds.ac.uk
    £2.00 • £8.00/hr15 mins0 places

Any help will be appreciated because this has never happened to me before:  Before reaching the end of the Study a notice came up - something like:     .... "Because I do not wish to continue the Study I should end it - voluntarily.  I wish I had copied it.  I received a completion code.

When I went back to Prolific  the box was empty, there was nothing to say that I had been Timed Out, and I copied the completion code in.

I let the Researcher know and he replied:  " You have been asked to return your submission for "English sentence reading task" for the following reason(s): - time limit Please return the submission https://app.prolific.co/submissions/64b53e05da89cb13d409af08"

I tried to change my completion code to "Returned" but the box would not let me change it.  I let The Researcher know and he says:  "It's ok! I understand. Will email Prolific to return your submission. this shouldn't affect your credits :)"

Could this be related to the new system?  Previously, when Timed Out, it is not possible to enter a Completion Code and I, genuinely, did not realize that I had taken too long.

UPDATE at 1837 hours.  I received another message from The Researcher:

"for your experience and thank you for return. I have reported the time out issue to Prolific as you ain't the first one who reported to me this issue".
