You have been invited to participate because you completed the previous questionnaire part. This part involves a learning and decision-making task, some logical puzzles and basic demographics. Note that participation in this part is completely voluntary and you can choose to participate (or not). 

In the learning and decision-making task there will be many trials. The task is fast-paced and demands full concentration. 

On reading the pdf of instructions, it says they only want people from 18-40 (sounds like an old holiday company), which screens me out. Would have thought they'd self screen on this one so I wouldn't be offered it. Have contacted the researcher but no response yet. The survey has been in my studies list since Friday but only had time to do it now. Guess the researcher has something better to do on a Sunday evening.

The researcher contacted me and said the18-40 thing was incorrect and sent me a new link so I've completed it now.

Must be a different demographic to me, I've only picked up a couple today, one of which was 10p and a high number of people required.

Anyone do this one? I completed it in about 5 minutes, and have been rejected for finishing it too quickly. I have sent them a message quoting the releavant Prolific guidelines - this is not a valid reason for rejection unless I finished more than 3 standard deviations below the mean, and I frankly do not believe that I did. I paid due attention and answered all questions honestly and in good faith. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar rejection.

The irony is, the rejection came remarkably quickly - almost instantly. Even if I had completed it fast enough to warrant a rejection, I don't believe they would have had time to calculate that before they rejected me.

<edit> I sent them another message saying I would report them if they didn't respond, and immediately got a reply saying "Let me look into your submission. Please bear with me." And then a minute later, my submission was approved. Trying it on, I reckon.

I was also rejected for the same reason. Not had a response to my complaint.

Embarrassed by one today that has paid out already. Was something to read followed by questions. I started the survey and the passage to read was displayed. I left it on that screen while I made a cup of tea, came back to it and it had moved to the next page. The next screen said that without making participants aware they had time limited the reading passage. All my answers to the questions were then guess work, though I passed all the attention checks as they were just tick boxes.

Goal Recognition and Explanations

I got about 10 minutes in, still working through the instruction videos, answering comprehension questions on each page, and I'm hit with a comprehension question for which all four answers - including the one I believe to be correct - are greeted with a "Wrong answer" response. I can't continue until I select the correct answer, and since none of them is recognised as correct, I'm stuck. I messaged the researcher asking for guidance and pointing out that I've already spent 10 minutes and hope that I can be compensated for that at least. It's extremely annoying when I waste my time on a study because the researcher couldn't be bothered to check that it worked properly before submitting it. Furthermore, currently I'm waiting for it to time out in the hope that the researcher will get back to me and provide a solution before it does, and several other studies have popped up on the Assistant addon in the meantime, which I've not been able to do because I'm stuck on this one.

Have just received full payment for this one, as a bonus, after returning it due to the issue described.

1. Eligibility

Who is eligible?
All users with a valid Participant ID and a Twitter account are eligible to enter the competition and win a prize. By “valid Participant ID” we mean, your Prolific account must have an "OK" account status and are not "banned," "on hold," or exhibiting any other restricted condition, as determined by Prolific.

Who isn’t eligible?

2. Method of Entry

How do I enter the competition?
To participate, retweet our competition post using the quote tweet functionality on Twitter and tell us about the best study you’ve taken on Prolific, and why that was the best study in your opinion.

3. Timing

When is the competition happening?
The competition opens on Wednesday 5th July 2023 at 11am BST.

4. Winner selection

How does the winner get chosen?

1. Winner Selection:
   All eligible entrants details will be placed in a spreadsheet and numbered. We will use Random.org to select a number between 1 and the total number of entrants. Once a number has been randomly generated, we will refer to the spreadsheet to find the email associated with the winner. We will repeat this process for second, third, fourth and fifth prizes.

5. Prize Descriptions

What will the prize be?

1. First prize: one £200 ThankYouCodes voucher; and the opportunity to pick a theme for the Prolific mug which shows when waiting for studies on the Prolific participant app.
2. Second prize: one £100 ThankYouCodes voucher.

Participants can choose to receive the voucher in any one of the following currencies: US Dollars, Euros or Great British Pounds. The foreign exchange currency conversion rate will be checked on the date that the prizes are issued and the voucher will match the equivalent of the prize in Great British Pounds.

6. Prolific Mug Design Conditions

By picking your design theme, you represent and warrant that:

You hereby assign any and all intellectual property rights in the mug design to Prolific to the fullest extent permissible by law.
You understand that except for the prize winnings no further compensation will be payable in respect of the mug design or use thereof.
The mug design idea does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights or any other rights of any third party

The mug design idea must comply with the following restrictions:
It must not infringe upon the intellectual property rights or trademarks of any third party.
It must not contain any political, religious, or offensive content.
It must not depict or promote illegal activities, violence, discrimination, or any form of hate speech.
It must not contain explicit or sexually suggestive material.

Prolific reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject or remove any mug design idea that violates these restrictions. 9. Prize Delivery

How will the prize get delivered?

1. For all prize winners, the relevant voucher will be sent via their Prolific email or a new email given to us by the winner. To claim the prize, the winner must fill out a form with their preferred delivery address, participant ID, and select a sweatshirt size.
2. The first prize winner will also be sent a separate email with a link for you to write down what you want our first re-branded Prolific mug to look like. You’ll have the option to submit photo inspiration if you wish to do so. You’ll have until Tuesday 18 July 2023 at 11:59 PM BST to submit your design idea.

10. Uncontactable Winners

What if the winner can’t be contacted?

1. If we are unable to contact the prize winners within two weeks after the competition close during which time we will make at least three attempts to direct message (DM) you on Twitter, we will deem the winner "uncontactable" and draw a new winner.
