Carnegie Mellon research study about Android development - Prescreening for a $40 interview study

We are recruiting Android developers to try out an Android Studio plugin developed by our research lab for creating the Google Play data safety section now required on the Google Play store. Findings will be anonymous and only used for research purposes. 

Please only fill out this pre-screening if you have developed an app published on the Google Play store and are interested in completing a 90-min interview later this month. During the interview, you will install our plugin and use it to create the data safety label for a Google Play app you developed. Compensation for the pre-screening is $0.20, and compensation for the 90-min interview is $40.00.

This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at CMU. We will not identify you, your app, or your organization in any publications that come out of this research without your written permission.

To be eligible for this study, you must be 18 or older and have participated in developing an Android app published on the Google Play store. We will contact you within one week if you are selected for participation. Thanks!

I have never been involved in developing apps so this study is not for me.  My demographics show that I have some experience in computer programming but that was rather limited in scope.

Hopefully this is a sign of another productive day on Prolific as I completed ten studies yesterday, which is higher than my usual daily quota.

Maybe they are short of participants with my demographic profile for some reason - I can only hope.

AMA_about agency study

After about 25 minutes into this Study I wondered if it was the 'known' time wasting Researcher from the past.  I hope I am wrong and I see that the Researcher has several other Studies on offer.

I was about 5% into the Study after 25 minutes and I Returned the Study.

If I am wrong, I apologize.  Does anyone else have any experience of this Researcher?

Since they are offering surveys paying 33p per hour, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole!

Thanks MollyR.  I think it may be the same Researcher from the past who offers studies using various different Researcher names.

I had some more of the “book a zoom call” links come up. I didn’t participate because although it was a different researcher name I wasn’t sure if it would be the same question or not. Anyone done more than one?

No.  I had two invitations come up today - one for today, and one for tomorrow - and both were fully booked, so that was pretty pointless.

I finished this one, repetitive, so long, did not make alot of sense. Got to the end and said did not finish in allocated time! Have reported it and sent a message. I only noticed how little it paid after, looks like over 40 mins for nothing.

Yes apparently this is another study from YT Wang, Yating Wang, SKK, JK, Jason Brown, Jen Lau etc, using the Cardiff University Qualtrics account.

Odd behaviour all around from this researcher.
