Video Call Experiment on Monday (University of Oxford)
Hosted by Roberto RozziI'm afraid I am not having a good 'run' of it with Prolific just now. I have to accept responsibiity for messing up my appointment for the above Study and will be glad if anyone can help, please. I booked a one minute Zoom slot for this Monday and now I realize that I won't be at home with my laptop, camera and audio etc.Does anyone know how I can access the calendar again to cancel and reschedule the time of my Zoom appointment? I am anxious not to let the Researcher down.I think I need to abandon Prolific Studies for a bit because I'm not doing at all well - scared to count the number of Returned Studies - although not all my fault. I have contacted the Researcher but, so far, have not received a reply.Any help will be very much appreciated.
I must admit I am curious as to what such a short zoom meeting could entail.0 -
Mine was early. They did check that I'd got the link before the call was ended, but you should still have access to the chat - the link was typed into there?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
VIDEO CALL EXPERIMENT - WEDNESDAY.I managed to book a Zoom slot for this Video Call Experiment on Wednesday - this was after receiving a new notification this evening.I hope I don't sound too stupid but, on the confirmation email which arrived within seconds of booking the Zoom slot, do I just wait until a few minutes before my time slot on Wednesday and click on the Location https link given, or is there another email link likely to arrive on Wednesday?I see there is a turquoise banner ? link to a calendar on the confirmation email but, so far, I have not clicked on it. I have already selected the appointment and, thankfully, this time received the confirmation email. If there is anything else I need to do ahead of the appointment I'll be grateful for any information, thank you.0

That is really helpful, thank you silvercar. Where was the completion code sent via Prolific, to your own email address or is there a separate chat 'place' on Zoom?
I used my own 'spare' email address - not my prolific email.0 -
Logged on 7.00 o clock this morning which is a little bit later than usual. Not a bad strategy though as I had five studies in a row one after the other. From my experience of daily numbers completed that will most likely be it for the day. Also my vital statistics are:Joined prolific October 2018Total submissions: 1,675Approved: 1,425Awaiting review:12Rejected: 3Timed out:2So far this month alone I have returned 10 studies.I return loads every month for various reasons.1

Makes choices about uncertain outcomes 2
By HF Experiments
Heads up to anyone who sees this study, it involves a LOT of unavoidable maths problems. This isn't explicitly stated until you start the study, and without giving too much away, you need to be pretty good at mental arithmetic else be prepared to spend a LOT of time with a calculator.
The pay was fine (although the reward offered on Prolific did not match the compensation offered within the study itself) but it is hard work for a study.
ETA : With a bonus, the pay was exceptionally good and commensurate with the difficulty and effort required to complete.2
