Thank you for taking the time to review this study. We appreciate your help.

I've just done this one. But I got to the end of the 10 conversations to be labelled then there was no completion code and automatic transfer back to Prolific. I've messaged the researcher and submitted as NOCODE but hope it's OK as I've just spent an hour on this one.
I just got paid for this one. Then another one of these appeared so I've done that one too now. This time there was a button to click on to take me back to Prolific so I got a completion code this time.
  • I also got paid for the earlier one that I submitted NO CODE for and like you got offered another one tonight that was much clearer and generated a completion code.

A study about memory and learning v23

I will have earned my £9... this was the most taxing study I've ever done on Prolific.  Nearly an hour on full screen with no idea of time elapsed and no breaks.  Was given a brief flash of two striped discs rotated at different angles and then had to reproduce the angle of one of them, over and over again.  I swear more than once I found myself staring at the disc I had to rotate to reproduce what I'd seen, with no memory of the two example discs, I think I had fallen asleep for a split second! So difficult to maintain focus!  Horrible!

    Understanding Minds of Other People

    Hosted by ucl.ac.uk

I am afraid this is another Gorilla Platform Study which allows a place to be reserved then gives this notice: "Experiment not available This experiment is currently full. Please cancel the task on Prolific."

I understand that it is the 'system' and that Prolific do not penalize for Returned Studies but it is still disappointing.  Prolific seem to do nothing about it.

If there was advance warning that the Gorilla Platform was involved, and the number of spaces available are (for me) rarely ever available in reality, I would very much prefer not to try starting.  I seem to have (as previously) an increasing number of Studies having to be Returned without any real choice.

I'm just feeling a bit frustrated (this is my third 'failed' Gorilla study in the past few days) although I really am very pleased when Prolific Studies are (as they are most of time) really good.

Video Call Experiment on Monday (University of Oxford)

    Hosted by Roberto Rozzi

I'm afraid I am not having a good 'run' of it with Prolific just now.  I have to accept responsibiity for messing up my appointment for the above Study and will be glad if anyone can help, please.  I booked a one minute Zoom slot for this Monday and now I realize that I won't  be at home with my laptop, camera and audio etc.

Does anyone know how I can access the calendar again to cancel and reschedule the time of my Zoom appointment?  I am anxious not to let the Researcher down.

I think I need to abandon Prolific Studies for a bit because  I'm not doing at all well - scared to count the number of Returned Studies - although not all my fault.   I have contacted the Researcher but, so far, have not received a reply.
Any help will be very much appreciated.

You can access it via the email confirmation link.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Thanks very much elsien.  So far, I have not received an email confirmation. I'll look out for one.

I don't want to let the Researcher down but, if I am honest, I can hardly bear to check the number of my Returned Studies lately - the worst ever.

Mine came straight away after signing up. Check your spam folder?
Although I would imagine they allow for a percentage of people having difficulty anyway.

  • I used my Prolific email address and I don't think there is a spam folder.  Usually a notification, from Prolific, arrived telling me that there is a new message.

I would be so discouraged (although this time definitely my fault) if I have to Return this one as well.  On the scale of things it is definitely not a big issue but I can hardly believe the number of 'failures' in my recent Prolific Studies.

Many thanks for replying, elsien.  If I receive any communication from The Researcher or from Prolific I'll post back.

I'm finding that sometimes Prolific messages take a while to come through for me at the moment so it may turn up yet.

Don't get disillusioned, Deleted_User. I'm sure you'll be fine but I know it is frustrating when there is a run of returned studies.
