Economy Seven Energy reviews: Give your feedback

I've seen that the rates have changed, hence why I am here and have contacted Economy Seven Energy. However they have not notified me of the price increase nor given me 30 days notice which they legally have to do. Until then I am still only due to pay the previous rates.
Quite why they haven't sent me an email to notify me and get the 30 days started is beyond me but that's their choice!
Can anyone tell me please what date the emails were sent out to notify people of the price increase?
Many thanks.0 -
If you have received your January invoice you will have seen you are being charged the new rates now;
Good luck in trying to stay on the old rates!
(Don't know if they had a set date for all, but will have been sent around November 29th)
If you have dual fuel with them then the increase was in the region of 20-30%, so maybe time to switch!0 -
Thanks. I've got a bill, which has the new rates on it. But that's not a notification of price increase giving me the legal amount of notice required. They will be charging old rates until after the correct notice period has been provided.
I can see why the email was never sent to me now. I joined on 4/12, so the emails would have been sent out before I joined. I joined at a rate of 2.68 per gas unit and that is what is in my welcome email. They had obviously already planned to increase prices and had notified current customers, but presumably not ones who joined in the notice period. Their loss unfortunately!0 -
Another price increase, I will be switching before the 10th of March.

Day rate, which most people use obviously looks to have gone up by 15%. Night rate and standing charge up also. I've switched.0

For my area it is going to be: 18.1660 / 8.7039 / 22.6886
That's very interesting, am I correct that there are different prices for different areas now?
I'm Norfolk and have had an email with the price of;
17.2674/8.9537/22.6886
If this is going to be the case, different prices in different areas, then it's going to be a pain for something like the CheapEnergyClub comparison and also I'm not convinced that E7E have the competency to administrate something like this correctly.0 -

All switching sites already know this and work with it.
That is why when you do a price comparison you must enter your address so they know what energy supply region you are in.0 -
I'm going back to EDF on a fixed price deal.
When the new ECO7 tariff kicks in on March 10th EDFs fixed rate Economy7 taariff will work out cheaper for us and by a substantial amount.
In 3 years I have seen our electricity prices just about double and it seems the poor single fuel user gets stiffed even more.
I have no choice so can not take advantage of dual fuel discounts. Why do I think I am subsidising dual fuel customers?0
