I may be wrong, and feel free to correct me, but those who are going to close and transfer their VM Reg E-Saver Issue 5 account later tonight are likely to have 'double interest' issues. If I recall correctly, to avoid this problem you should close the account on 21st June.

Does it matter where the funds are transferred to? For example, would a transfer to an account with Virgin which is a maturity one from a previous Reg E-saver result in this annoying and frustrating problem? Thanks for the remainder and help to avoid such difficulties.

Don't know, never had one :)

Go for Gold and Sports Saver were both 4% and were taken off sale in September 2016.

I don't think that matters. I think it's to do with the timing of closure i.e. if you close it early whilst there are uncleared transactions.

On trying to close mine I just got an error message: Unfortunately we cannot process this request, as the selected account has uncleared transactions. You can view these transactions within your statement.

It'll clear within the next hour or two.

But my error message implies that they have corrected the double interest issue in that you cannot now close the account early whilst there are uncleared transactions?
