I've now just got to see whether Issue 4 is maturing this year or not.
My RS (4) has been running since 09-2016.
Looking at my records: Key Facts:
Operation of the account: The Regular Saver(Issue 4) is a variable rate, non-fixed term account0 -

I don't think it will. I think they would have sent out a letter for 4 before 5 if so.
Plus, if you opened in September 2016:
£50p/m would take 10 years to reach £6,000
£100p/m would take 5 years to reach £6,000
£150p/, would take 3 and half years to reach £6,000
I reckon a small % of account holders have deposited the £250 max a month.0 -

It was launched in September 2016, so we are in the same boat come August.0 -
It is possible to open RS (16) providing one only has also Issue (4).
Leeds BS told me today that the opening of Issue 16 is now permitted when the RS Issue 5 soon matures (in my case 03-07-2018).
My RS (16) is now open and funded.0 -

I have a feeling that your Issue 16 Reg Saver will be converted to one of their easy access accounts within a few days - despite what the Leeds BS employee told you. Happy to be proved wrong though when it comes to earning more pennies.
Their online system has always allowed you to open their Reg Savers (Issue 6-16) despite having an Issue 4 account.
I'm going to wait until Issue 4 has matured and funds transferred over to my nominated account until I open their next regular saver (likely to be Issue 17 in July).
When did you fund your Issue 16 Reg Saver?:grouphug: Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member :grouphug:0 -

When did you fund your Issue 16 Reg Saver?
Funded today.
The employee told me that it was a new situation notified to them today. I was busy regarding setting up RS(16) when my RS(5) matured and that was when I was told. Indeed we shall see.0 -

It says in the 'maturing' letter that you can open another RS. For certain that means in addition to RS5 (I've done it as has a previous poster) AND maybe RS4 - doesn't say you cant in my letter, albeit I haven't got RS4.0 -
Heya, I opened an Yorkshire Building society regular saver today in branch today if anyone's interested:

I accept that Virgin have failed to act on what they have been told and it is their fault that the opening has remained. But closing the account the night before maturity knowing that the fault may be repeated, and if it is, a monetary advantage can be taken is the bit that would make me feel uncomfortable.0
