I also had to travel miles to sales meetings (30-40 miles on various occaisions). I swapped from Tupperware to TBS as there was a very local group. 7 days after my training, my team leader left and I was back to 30-40 miles as all the other girls in her team chose to quit too.
I really enjoyed doing the parties and there are some tricks for maximising income but it was just too difficult and I never made anything like the claimed income.
I now have a garage full of body shop and tupperware products
I have been in that boat too, I managed a team at Ann Summers, Stringfellows, worked at Blue Bella and at all of them I was advised and advised that sales would be higher if you had the more expensive items in your kit, only after leaving did I realise that the only person who benefits from e having higher priced items is the company lol. I ran my own party plan business too before moving to partycash4gold. I love it here as there was no outlay to start, I have no kit to buy and never will have, as we buy not sell so what I actually earn is mine. I love the parties and I never have to push anyone to make a sale so I make money, I just value their items make them an offer and the majority accept it. Plus all I have to carry is the valuing equipment so no more dragging huge cases around too.0 -
Hello!
This is my first post, so I hope that you'll forgive the (very much!) newbie question!
I am interested in party plan - possibly NYR or Jamie at Home - but was wondering how the parties are organised. Is this something that the planners organise themselves and if so then how do you go about it? Mostly friends/family? Or is there an existing customer list? Or just by advertising in the local area?
Many thanks in advance!
Louisa
I think you will find most party plan companies will require you to find parties of your own. There are however lots of ways to get them and keep them moving. Most good trainers would teach you to get parties from parties, teach you canvassing skills, self promotion in your local area etc. Where I work now we are not just limited to parties, we can do summer fetes, charity fundraisers, car boots, pub parties salons, etc, all earn you money and open up new avenues for parties too. Its worth checking the restrictions on where you can work. We also have no outlay which is a bonus as its no risk to you, but you do have to join with 4 parties one of which can be your own and those 4 would be done with you until you are trained enough to go off on your own.0 -
There are companies out there who don't expect you to hold any stock, you just place orders (subject to a minimum) when you actually have the orders from the customers, all 3 of the companies i have been with were like this and you didn't have to commit to any personal order every month like some companies expect you to.
Some Companies will only allow you to party plan whilst others let you do fetes, sales, door to door or any way that moves products as well which would obviously help if you wanted a larger income.
Its worth investigating a variety of companies and see what they allow and don't allow and if they expect you to place a personal order regularly or whether a minimum order has to go in monthly (what about if you want to take a few weeks off will you still be expected to place an order?).
This is very true, asking questions costs you nothing, its always worth asking, what you have to pay, what happens when a catalogue change occurs, where am I allowed to sell or canvass, what are my monthly targets if any, all things like that before you take the leap into any business opportunity.0 -

£100 to join (plus £15 Public Liability insurance) is a lot for many people.;)
Then they use a 0844 number and earn money every time you call them.0 -
Alison . Are you not aware touting for recruits/biz is against site rules.;)0

I dont understand this thread - are you not allowed to mention the party plan you recommend to people who may be looking for genuine recommendations to follow up???that seems a little short sighted to me....i came on here to find out if anyone had heard of Scentsy wickless candles so i could see if it was a reputable company - but all i see is people complaining at anyone mentioning a company or opinion....is there anywhere we can actually get this info as i need genuine advise...thanks0

Hi faireire,
I am in the process of joining up with Scentsy. I have found a sponsor in the UK rather than the US and she is really nice.
She sent me a box of the products and now my house smells lovely and that is without melting any wax!!
They seem to be a reputable company to me, they are huge in the US and Canada, only just started over here. I think there is around 120 consultants now in the whole of the UK/N.I so I would say you need to check if there is anyone in your area doing it, which is unlikely as it isn't like Virgin Vie or the others (yet)
For me I like the fact that I will be the first in my area and one of the first in the UK to do this, so hope that being on the ground floor means I can only go up!
PM me if you would like to chat x0 -
