Good afternoon everyone,
I'm CFO for lunch as the kids are having theirs with their Dad. Younger son now home for a couple of days but I'm not sure what his plans are for tonight so I may be CFO if he's meeting his mates.
Ended up having the portion of rice/lentils/veg last night as I really CBA cooking. Brunch today was a tasty sausage sandwich followed by a peach & strawberries.
It's very warm here but cloudy and it supposed to rain later before more thunder storms tomorrow.
I think you're right Farway re the weather causing mould, I've just had to ditch one of my maskota tom plants as as it was manky with mildew/mould. All the rest of the plants in the greenhouse seem fine so I'm hoping it's a one off.0 -
I made a sandwich of chicken/stuffing, there's enough left over to make another. Those packs don't go far, especially for the price... although I was a bit heavy handed with the chicken as it needs using up. I'll not ever bother to buy sliced chicken breast slices ever again
Of the chicken in marinade.... ended up serving about half of that with chips and curry sauce. I wasn't impressed, probably won't bother again. There were meatballs or mince I could've had this morning with a YS on.... should've had those, or nothing.
I've some hedge clippings and a few other bits/pieces pulled out of the lawn - so I just took that down the tip as it's been loitering 2 days. Dropped it off, just driving away and it started raining huge spots of rain! Good job I'd taken that greenery to the tip else it would've run the risk of becoming "slimey", especially if it'd got wet... and, therefore, a "nasty job to get round to", instead of just an irritating one.
Chicken sandwiches with stuffing later.... and maybe I'll eat the chicken I cooked in the SC simply by hand as it is.
I'm also half way through the bag of jelly babies and have eaten one of the "own brand Mars bars". An egg custard might call my name later.0 -
It was just bacon & brown sauce rolls for lunch
The YS SC gammon has cooked, amazing how much liquid comes out.
I never added any water but the SC is half full of it. I guess the sneaky whatsits pump it full of water as[STRIKE] makeweight [/STRIKE]tenderising fluid
It'll be some of that ham, plus Actifried skin on HM chips with a couple of fried eggs for dinnerEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I'm back home and CFO
. The journey back yesterday was better than going it took four hours, I lost the battle of A303 rather than Dorset even through I was driving  we spent about 20 minutes around Stonehenge but it cleared quickly, going West looked really bad and traffic reports said at least 45 min queues there and it looked bad most of the way in that direction. His lordship has been sulking since I got home although he did wake me up 6am this morning for a fuss
Trip into town this morning for a hair cut and colour and to stock up in fresh food, snap Farway I picked up a YS 750g gammon joint in M&S for £2.50 which works out much cheaper and nicer than buying cooked ham, it will do for lunches. I'll probably pop it in the oven tonight as it won't take long
PN I also avoid buying cooked chicken breast, usually because you can buy a whole chicken for the same cost :money: but I know you don't like to do that.
I didn't get back from town until 2pm so CBA to get a proper lunch and had some cheese, biscuits and an apple. I've taken some salmon out of the freezer for dinner and as I picked up some cooked mussels YS in M&S I think I will make a salmon and mussel risotto with some green beans and broccoli, there will be LOsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Hello all, CFO day today as we had different meals all day. I had banana on toast for breakfast, lunch was fruit and yogurt as I was working so lunch had to be early and therefore fairly light. I made chicken fried rice for my dinner, with added beansprouts, peas from the garden, sliced pea pods from afore mentioned peas and spring onions.
PN I'd have divided the cooked chicken slices into portions and frozen them. I'm jealous of the egg custards, they're one of my favourite things.
Brambling I'm glad that you're home safe even if it does mean CFO again...0 -

Except I've emptied the freezer and trying to keep it as low as possible as I'm expecting a call "at any minute" saying my house is sold and I have to be out in X days - and I'll be selling the F/F immediately, so I am trying to minimise what goes into the F/F at all as what's in there would need to be eaten, the F/F defrosted, cleaned, photographed, advertised....
Although it did get a growth spurt yesterday when I picked up a reduced pack of 2 breaded fish fillets in L1dl, reduced to 90p for two and couldn't resist0 -
Yesterday I can remember having:
A chicken/stuffing sandwich.
Chicken & chips with curry sauce.
3 own brand Mars bars.
A whole pack of jelly babies.
An egg custard tart.
I'll probably remember something else I ate in a bit, so easy to forget things.
Today I've a chicken/stuffing sandwich to make.
I'll no doubt polish off the rest of those Mars bars and at least one egg custard tart.
Not sure what else I'll scoff
I did buy a cucumber yesterday, so I could make egg/cucumber sandwiches, a current favourite.0 -
Welcome home Brambling. My son was going in opposite direction yesterday, to Cornwall, but early start & in Devon just after 9, not sure I'd like the silly time start but they normally go to France so silly time start for the Tunnel counts as normal for their holiday
Last year they spent hours looking at the Folkstone terminal, then Paris ring road. Not as historic as Stonehenge, just as boring after a bit though.
It was that, plus Brexit uncertainty that prompted Cornwall this year
The YS ham was super, loads of it, it'll do me for a few more days yet
Up earlier this morning, cooler night, bit dull but forecast is hot again
After porridge breakfast I cracked on with Mamade marmalade making, the tin is only 15months past BB date so quite fresh by Farway Towers standards;)
It set OK, made over 6 jars, misjudged it, could've been 7 but I only had 6 + a small one sterile & warmed. I've put the LO in a bowl, it'll keep in fridge just fine
I added some powdered ginger to the mix, but can't say I can taste it, but was wary of adding too much
Then sorted out the regular saver, used Halifax where I've other accounts. Brambling, the Kent RS is pay in branch only and I can't really commit to Chichester trips just to pay cash in for 1% more, given low rates that & more would vanish in fuel
Lunch will be some of the ham, in YS rolls, maybe with tomato?
Dinner, def ham, maybe with salad
PN, own brand Mars bars? I like that idea, from L's?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
portion hm quiche out for lunch, a small beef joint put in SC with onion/carrots/pots etc etc. No doubt will have enough juice for soup and left overs for a day or two or sarnies.0

I woke up with bad jaw pain from grinding my teeth. All I had was some water with lemon and a strong ibuprofen. I feel a lot better now.
I sliced up a potato and carrot and sprayed some oil on them and roasted them. I had it with two tomatoes with some vegan mayo. I meant to put in a veggie sausage but I got distracted by a funny DJ on the radio.:rotfl:
I have some of the leftover rice and veg and a bit of tofu in the fridge. I have some tortilla wraps and salsa so I will make burritos later. I might add some sweetcorn too, or and some sliced red pepper.0
