    I had toast for breakfast.

I'm going to have leftover roast dinner for lunch.:A

    Good evening everyone,
25C is on the top of end of comfortable for me and I doubt I could cope with cooking a roast - though would happily eat one:rotfl:.

Last week my mobile phone said the "feel like" temp was 41 degrees!

The only time I have ever felt that hot was when I was in Tenerife or when I've been in a sauna!:rotfl:

Clouds are gathering again rapidly, garden stuff is done and wheelie bin put out for collection tomorrow. If it pours now I don't need to stray.
I picked courgettes, broad beans, a cue, couple of toms, a few ripe brambles (the first ones:)) and a solitary dwarf bean! After a promising start the first batch of dwarf beans seem to have completely stalled:(, luckily the runners and climbing beans are beginning to have baby beans showing and the second batch of dwarf beans is flowering so hopefully they'll do well.

It's been wild, wet and windy here all morning. Nothing's fallen off the house yet, but, by the looks of it out there that's just been luck! Occasional odd noises/bangs from nearby houses, so somebody's bins and garden stuff must be having a wander.

I had cheesy chips for an early lunch ... and I removed all six sausages from the freezer. Trouble is, I've already change my mind 3x as to what I'll make with them - and haven't started as I can't decide whether to make a microwave meal, or a SC one.

Still undecided what I'll do, but I have 6 sausages, 1 onion and a tin of tomato/basil soup.... I could optionally toss in a tin of spuds and a tin of beans, but that'd be the extent of creativity. I'll cut/roll the sausages into balls, so 24 of them... and serve it with rice.

It does mean, however that ..... apart from a portion of chips, the freezer is entirely empty (oh, except that soddin soup and 1 crust of bread).

Ditto here, but rain has now stopped for a breather

L's this morning, zero YS around, but I've now found where the tinned corned beef went to in the reshuffle. Stocked up two tins, apart from that nothing exciting in there

Toyed with popping in chippie on way home from volunteering, but decided against at the last minute
Lunch was thus yet another cheese & salady sarnie

Without YS or chippie F & C I was umming & ahhing on dinner. In the end I've taken a HM beef stew out to defrost. I've nothing to "go with" except I made a fresh loaf yesterday, so could dunk some of that in I suppose

No gardening today, s*d's law though, my new tree lilies have opened and are now getting bashed about by the wind. fingers crossed

It took me awhile, but I finally got round to the sausages.... and just rolled/nuked for 1 minute then chucked them into the SC with a chopped onion and contents of the soup can. Licked the lid of the soup can, it's really nice. 39p/can https://www.aldi.co.uk/tomato-soup/p/045387003525200
I did buy that soup with a SC/sauce in mind like that... probably with mince meatballs originally, but it's fine with sausages too.

It all went on at about 5pm, so I'll be able to eat at any point after probably 8pm as the sausages went in pre-cooked. Have to see if I fancy doing rice by then, it should be the end of that packet.

Overall, slowly plodding through eating up tins that would've lurked and opened packets etc....

I had actually originally intended to eat the sausages in pairs, in a variety of recipes. It's only been a last minute thing to think "oh just use the lot up by chucking them into the SC with some other stuff to get rid of them once and for all". My original intention was to have made a couple of rissoles... but that's the way it goes. You think you'll cook something one way, then CBA, then you do something else.

    Good evening everyone,
You're definitely getting there with the freezer emptying PN:), just need to lose that soup now!!;)
It's rained on a off all afternoon and over the past couple of hours there have been some rumbles of thunder out over the bay. In the last few minutes it's started to pelt down so reckon it's moving inland. :(
I've had a very quiet afternoon, had a snoozed, yapped on the phone to a friend and did my monthly finances. July was quite a spendy month with insurance renewal and various purchases so there was quite a bit of pot shuffling to be done to get a balance. My Nationwide current account & regular saver account deals end next month so I'm on the hunt for replacements for when they end. I'll wait until next week and the kids have been and gone before sitting down & having a proper look.
Broccoli, broad bean, courgette, solitary dwarf bean & HM pesto pasta for dinner tonight, I had planned to make more pesto but cba now (fingers crossed the basil plant doesn't grow too much more overnight:rotfl::rotfl:) and will use one of the portions from the freezer. I'll blend cooked broccoli stalks with the pesto and some pasta cooking water to make a sauce. I did this a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it.

Well, that was nice. I ate half of it. It was in the SC 2½ hours before I decided it was time to scoff it :)

I'll box up the other portion in a bit and have that tomorrow.

I didn't use all the rice though, still 1-2 portions left in the bag.

Well if you don't use all off the rice with the 2nd portion, freezer soup + rice + toasted crust is always an option to clear the freezer;):)
