Awoken early by thumping from kitchen, I'd put a timed loaf in the Panny last night and it was[STRIKE] bashing[/STRIKE] kneading away at 4 this morning
Worth it though, lovely fresh loaf now cooling for lunchtime sarnie
Porridge breakfast, then watering the pots out the front. I'm still limited in what is sensible to carry, so half a watering can at a time takes twice as long, but at least it's done. Later this afternoon I'll use hose for watering the back
Could I borrow some of your rain Caron?;)
YS bacon out defrosting for my lunchtime fresh bread bacon butty:j
Dinner, no idea, maybe double up on the bacon butties even?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Toast and marg and Marmite for breakfast.:)
I'm about to go for a walk, lovely and sunny again here.0 -
The lunchtime bacon [BLT] sarnie was superb, fresh bread & the YS bacon was a good 'un no gunge creeping out
Bit more gardening now the bug has me, potted up the dwarf french beans into final cropping pot, now just sit back & wait a few months for the glut to appear
Spotted my blackberry flowers have opened, Hoping for a better show than last year, the heat got to them
Another BLT for dinner is looking very likely now, bit humid & close def not a day for slaving over hot stoveEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Hi, its my first time posting on this thread :hello:
I live on my own, well sort of, I rent a room in a house share but I cook just for myself. I'm always trying to spend less on groceries and hate wasting food. Problem is its difficult for me to batch cook or bulk buy as I have half a fridge, half a freezer and one kitchen cupboard as my storage space. I'm currently using my wardrobe as extra storage for tins/teabags/packet foods, think there's more food in there than actual clothes! I'm here for inspiration and because its always great to read about what everyone else is doing/eating. Maybe I'm just a nosy sod :rotfl:#84 Make £2020 in 2020 challenge

Welcome Thrifty Hayley, you'll find plenty of inspiration here, not all involves cooking, food ranges from full on posh grub to LO cold pizza, it's all food and there to be eaten
Some batch cook, others, like me, just have left overs which have to be used or binned.
Freezer space is a bummer but can't be helped
I use YS reductions for "inspiration" at times, going cheap? Yep, that's dinner sorted
Do you have access to a spot of garden? Just thinking about growing something easy & able to provide fresh food, even if just a snack or fresh herbsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Thanks Farway. Sadly no, first floor flat, although I may ask my flatmate (its her place) if she minds me putting a plant pot on the kitchen windowsill. Don't ask, don't get! I'm going on a bank holiday picnic tomorrow with my boyfriend so raided Asda's reduced bread section. Got a french stick for 10p and a big loaf of bread for 10p, result! Already got ham and cheese to go in them so that's good.
I'm normally quite good with the abbreviations but what is YS? Been wracking my brain and can't work it out lol!#84 Make £2020 in 2020 challenge

Oooooh thanks, seems so obvious once you know lol. I was trying to think of a shop with the initials YS, doh! Ironic really because the last couple of weeks I've really gotten into hunting YS bargains. I've started following the poor man with the sticker gun around the shop near closing time :rotfl:
