    Afternoon all,

I spent a very pleasant morning at a "new to me" school teaching Year 4. A nice bunch of kids, that I wouldn't have minded staying all day with, but never mind.

Stopped off at the new Lidl that's opened at the other side of town, as I was in the area anyway. Lots of parking, and feels a bit bigger than my usual Lidl, but it's the wrong side of town for me, so I can't see myself going often. Got stuff for the weekend. A cucumber, crumpets, milk, chocolate mousses and 2 frozen pizzas. The only things I actually needed were the milk and the pizzas. Everything else just sort of fell into my basket. But still only spent £6.70. I reckon the equivalent shop in Tesco would have been more like the £8-£9 range.

I had a snacky lunch when I got home, and I'll probably do a later tea. I've got 3 of those big flat mushrooms, which need eating. Can't quite decide what to do with them though... I think I'll wait and see where my hunger takes me at 6-ish.

    :j:j it's a Friday and a long weekend :D:D

Following on from my gardening yesterday I was up midnight looking for antihistamine cream as both my arms were painful, I'm not sure what I reacted to in the garden this time  five minutes later I was up washing it off as I seemed to react to the cream :o I've used it before but I've had this tube a while  I took an antihistamine tablet which helped :). The rash is just going down now I must remember to wear sleeves whilst gardening

Hope the house hunting went well today PN I envy anyone with a decent size kitchen work surface

Lunch was a large salad with a YS scotch egg :) and dinner was the lambs liver I couldn't find a couple of weeks ago, I must have 'man looked' :D as it was sitting on top in the bottom drawer when I open the freezer last night  i panned fried with onions, mashed potatoes, runner beans and broccoli

    Food overload here, without trying.

Yesterday I was "out", had a half in a pub garden, then got some CoOp cheese/onion rolls (like sausage rolls, bag of 5 for £1.15) - ate three of those in the car.

I had a bowl of just chilli before I went out and chilli/chips for tea when I came home.

I had intended on taking sandwiches with me - I'd bought a loaf. But, when I looked at where the eggs are kept, I realised I didn't have any. Funny that as I thought "eggs?" in the shop, but had told myself I still had plenty.

As I've this whole loaf to eat I might go and get a cucumber/eggs and make up loads of sandwiches for the fridge.

    No plans for the weekend.

I've a shed load of chilli I made yesterday, the 30% off lamb rogan josh (today's date). I've a whole loaf of bread and two cheese/onion rolls. I won't starve. There's always cheese that can be shoved into sandwiches... and I do need to use up the open jar of sweet pickle ready for when I move out.

I'm about to have some baked Quorn pieces in a tortilla wrap, probably with mustard and ketchup.
Re house... put in an offer, so there's no tellings if/when that'd be accepted.

    Good luck!:)

Thanks, I did look but lost the link to it. It's getting very tempting as the site has 20% discount for May and I may be going over my son's one day next week, and the pick up is only slight detour from motorway on the way.

They're one of the ones I use though never had fish from them, everything else has been really decent so I'm sure their fish is too!:)

    Fingers crossed:)

    Good afternoon,

My son and his fiancee has just left to go to a wedding- such a shame it's raining after some lovely weather for the past few days. I'm enjoying a briefly quiet house after the whirlwind of them getting ready before my younger son arrives around 1pm.
Loads got done in the garden yesterday thanks to my able assistant and apart from a few plants that aren't quite far enough on to go out all the flowers are planted and my veg growing tubs all in place. :D
For lunch yesterday my son made a batch of coronation chicken to use up what was left of it which he had in salad sandwiches with veg sticks on the side. Last night they were supposed to be going to see their Dad and have a takeaway but he was unwell so not up for it. For dinner they decided to get a Chinese which I didn't fancy risking so I had a piece of the asparagus tart with oven chips, spinach & peas.

My younger son and I are heading to the fishmongers this afternoon to get stuff for tomorrow so may well get something from there for dinner tonight.

PN, good luck with the house offer

Hot & sunny again, after porridge breakfast I was feeling easy enough to at last pot up my volunteer garden pots, been putting it off with hospital and not knowing if I'd be able to water or not
Got them all done and watered in, using hose.

Onto Morries, only needed milk & cucumber really.

I had the last 2 ltr blue top in the store, loads of other sizes.

Seems Morries have gone on the plastic war, cuc are no longer wrapped in plastic, which I understand but is useless for CFO, the thing will be a bendy mess before I've eaten it:(
Fortunately other stores have not followed suit yet, if they do I'll not be buying cuc it seems

Lunch, cheese & salad sarnie, last of the loaf
Followed by slim slice of cherry pie that fell into trolley in Morries as I reeled in shock from plastic less cuc

Dinner, it's salad weather, found some LO HM roast beef slices in freezer, out defrosting. Ideally should have a baked spud with it but too hot to pop oven on, so back to frozen chips in Actifry:)

    SCORCHIO here!

Offer is being sat on, they had other viewings booked in they're going ahead with.

L1dl chiller section £2.79 Lamb Rogan Josh = avoid. Just spicy gloop really.

Today I've had some sweeties, the two cheese/onion rolls I got from the CoOp yesterday and the Rogan Josh and a bhaji.

It was lovely, sunny and warm first thing, here in Northamptonshire, but it's clouded over now.

A cheese and tuna and coffee from Costas this morning.

A mid-afternoon round of coffee and biscuits, and a small handful of the last of a bag of mini marshmallows I've had lingering since Christmas hot chocolates!!

There's a pizza in the freezer for later. :)

May have accidentally bought a bottle of gin and some cans of tonic for a little drinkie later. Ever since I had that lovely g&t in the pub last Saturday, I've had it stuck in my mind! I can easily go months and months between an alcoholic drink, so this is unusual for me.

    Fingers crossed PN :)

Flubberzing I found that gIn can easily jump off the shelf into your basket as you walk past :D they had various ones on offer in Sainsbobs which I narrowly avoided tonight, if the shelf with the rhubarb and ginger one hadn't been empty I may have been tempted to try it, as I usually take a bottle of gin when I visit my sister in Dorset.

Lovely and sunny here as well :D. It did get really dark 2.30ish and I got the washing in but it didn't come to anything although I was expecting a storm. Washing was dry so didn't matter :)

I decided to avoid the town today but did go to the garden centre which is only a couple of minutes away to replace one of my Acers which didn't survive the winter. I have a Hilliers card and got £5 off, I also picked up a smaller sad one reduced to £3 the last one i brought like that and nursed is now taller than me :) I did buy a couple of other plants as well as some sage. His lordship is not happy as I replaced [STRIKE]my[/STRIKE] 'his' doormat, the old one was way past it's best but he likes to sit on it, I'm assuming this one is a little too hard and doesn't smell right

I've invited my sister and nephew to dinner tomorrow as I had a YS half side of salmon in my freezer so quick dash to Sainsbobs as salmon and rice with no dessert is probably not what they were expecting  the request is I cook it like last time when I cooked Chinese, only problem is then I found a recipe on line and tweaked it, just can't remember what the marinade was :o

Really fancied scrambled egg lunchtime so used the last of the bread to have scrambled eggs on toast and a slice of toast and marmalade to follow :). For dinner I panned fried a lamb steak from the freezer and had with LO runner beans and broccoli.

I was led astray in the SM with magnums on offer some may have fallen into my basket :naughty: after all I do have a salmon size gap in the freezer
