Dentist, done, all clear, go back Feb 2020. That's the sort of dentist visit I like
Shopping, stocked up on bits, one nice YS was wholemeal premix DIY loaf packs, down to 38p in Asda, all well in date.
I assume not selling well & about to end the line. Ideal for me to have in post op + Panny
Iceland provided bread, Wonderloaf on offer, 50p, not my normal choice but I'll go for it at the price:)
Plus pack of YS deli rolls popped in bag as well
More YS in W'rose, bacon, the "good stuff" on offer & then YS but with a few days left
Lunch was 100% YS with couple of bacon rolls:money:
Dinner, CBA so think it's LO, the YS rolls, with LO tinned salmon, with LO Lild Delight and mushy banana, a sponge short of a trifleWednesday2000 wrote: »

I dined out today, while on the road.... a bag of 6 sausage rolls at the CoOp
Before I went out, I toasted a fat crust (thickness of two slices) and topped that with beans and the last egg/scrambled.
I guess I need more eggs at some point.
I'll probably eat later, not hungry, but "agitated" from my journey home just now (1.5 hours to go 20 miles).... so I'll do some general pacing about, bit of a smoke, then I'll probably be pawing through the cupboards for something to eat. I've got half a tin of meatballs I opened yesterday, out of spaghetti but I've plenty of pasta in various shapes.0 -
Good evening everyone,
I've never been to Nando's, there aren't any locally. I did try to go to one when I was in London for a couple of nights 5 years ago as there was one close to where my hotel was. However, it was queued out of the door and I decided I didn't fancy trying one enough to join the queue! I do sometimes make peri peri chicken using the sauce or rub and enjoy that though haven't for ages. I now have a notion and I have chicken and seasoning so that will be dinner tomorrow sorted or Saturday.:);)
I managed to get to the post box without getting wet and sourdough mark 2 baked earlier. The crust is darker than I would have liked but I think that might be as I upped the proportion of rye flour rather than it's overdone. I'll know better when I slice it tomorrow.:)
This afternoon I had a real cuddle-fest with next door's cat. He was in purr overdrive and for the first time rolled over for me to rub his belly.
I decided I did fancy savoury mince again tonight. I've finished my stock of HM frozen mash so will have it with some steamed new potatoes. That should leave a small portion for the freezer which will be fine for a lunch or padded out for dinner another time.:)0 -
You know cats can tell a soft touch from a mile away Caronc
. It will have you wrapped around it's paw with a purr and a couple of tummy rubs :rotfl:
I drove home from work thinking fish and chips and whether I CBA to drive into town, luckily for my waist the skies opened as I got a mile from home so I decided against it :A.
I didn't fancy cooking a proper meal so cooked the salmon I'd defrosted and boiled a egg for lunch tomorrow. Dinner was then quorn goujons in a wrap with salad, I air fried them whilst sorting the rubbish ready for tomorrow. We won't mention the couple of dark truffles I had, a present from my nephewat least as they're lovely and bitter I can't eat too many at once

 To the next chapter in your life PasturesNew.However I do have open jars of green olive tapenade and chermoula paste in the fridge, plus lemon pepper and a bulb of smoked garlic. :j Unsurprisingly I am 'reinventing the wheel'!
I had started on a Middle Eastern tomato salad - salted the cherry tomatoes and vinegared the red onion - but they can easily be diverted to this fish dish. Rang ex/ friend back and he is bringing a bag of the YS Jersey potatoes back down to me tomorrow.**
Thank you for the warning Caronc! The sea bream had been gutted and beheaded by Morries fishmonger, but I cleaned it again and stuffed/ marinated it late last night.
**Even later last night the ex/ friend rings again to say that he has been 'stopped and searched' by the local police. Some sort of theft/ robbery/ burglary in the area. Asked him to empty his pockets .... I start giggling because I know he is looking very scruffy, skinny and a bit shifty, and that he has some drugs and a bag of potatoes about his person.
Fortuitously he is carrying a labelled pharmacy box not just the blister strips. He explains that he is walking down to mine to trade the new potatoes for batteries for his electric razor. Then the police officer requests ID, so he pulls up his sleeve to show a tattoo of his own name. :rotfl:
Verdict on the Morrocan roasted chermoula bream: Stupid recipe, stupid cartouche, stupid tin foil, stupid oven gloves. Mushy (fish), semi raw (sliced potato), boney, cold despite resorting to nuking. Ate the first third with YS tenderstem broccoli. The flavours have potential and I will eat the remainder.
Food waste: One purple carrot. Some barely chewed ejected/ rejected cat food. :silenced:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I had another snack pot of houmous with crackers for brekkie.:) I cannot stop eating houmous at the moment.:D0

In a bit I'll use the last crust of bread and top it with beans.
Later on I'll have that half tin of meatballs and some pasta.
Unexpected Ruby Murray invite for later, so it's a takeaway tonight0 -

Shame the fish dish was disappointing
Good afternoon everyone,
I'm not long back from a productive morning at my Dad's - that's a good wad of his hobby stuff of which he has loads & loads rehomed:D.
Dry & sunny here though it's just clouded over slightly but I do hope to get on outdoors later. Forecast is looking ok for the weekend so I'm hoping get a good bit done.
I had a slice of the sourdough earlier and yes the crust is a tad "well fired" though far from cremated but the taste and texture is fab. I'll have another slice with a bowl of salad and some cheese for lunch. After yesterday's Nandos chat I'm making peri peri chicken tonight with spicy wedges, corn cob and other veg tbc.0 -
L's early morning run, final odds & ends before hospital, XXL pack of salmon fillets, one of this week's offers, I'll use some fresh & freeze rest, always space for a SF
And fell into temptation, one of this week's offers was Mediterranean plants, I now own yet another fig tree, only tiny but only £3:o
Good job I'll still be recovering, next week it's patio fruit trees on offer
Brambling, Must be catching, I fancied fish & chip on way home from volunteering this morning, but the slimming gods also smiled upon me, the car park opposite was full:j
And the PN beans on toast is very high on tonight's possible menu
Lunch was tinned salmon & cucumber sarnie
I had same for last night's dinner, followed by last of the L' delight, then a bowl of muesli later
I'v bought more muesli this morning as a handy stand by should I fancy something easy but not involve effort next weekFarway perhaps a couple of ready meals for when you get out of hospitalEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good evening everyone,
Lucky you with your fig tree Farway:), there's no way one would survive in my garden between the wind, the salty air and the cold it wouldn't stand a chance!:(
Not as much done outside as I hoped as the weather turned showery and quite cool. Tomorrow is meant to be better but heading frost overnight but then decidedly warmer from Sunday so fingers crossed. I'm hoping for a quiet weekend as my sis is away and my friends with pooches who often pop by are on holiday so don;t expect any visitors which should mean I can get on outdoors.:)
I "rescued" a small George Foreman from my Dad's as noone else wanted it and I've been toying with getting a new toastie machine. They don't make quite as good toasties as the one's that seal but handy for other things as well. I used to have a huge one when I had full house which got used a lot but I gave it away when there was just me & my younger son at home as it was taking up space and gathering dust. If I end up not using this one I'll see if I can find another home for it as the local charities don't take small electricals and it would be a shame for it to go to land fill!
Dinner tonight just needs popped in the oven- peri peri chicken leg, HM garlic & paprika wedges & mini corn cob. I'll have some salad with it as I made too much at lunch time so had some LO.0
