Oh, lucky I read this as I forgot I had to call the vet this afternoon at a certain time!
I had some "posh" crackers this morning with vegan cheese and cherry tomatoes.
I then had a pitta pocket with marinated tofu, cucumber and romaine lettuce with an apple and some cashew nuts.
I have more of that tomato lentil soup for dinner.0 -
You can expect about 3-4 months of very bizarre eating going on because I'll be moving and need to eat up everything that's in the freezer (not too difficult as I was running it down anyway) + eating everything that's lurking in the cupboards (much harder to do).
Yesterday I was out on the road, so had food on the hoof; stopped off at a Coop and got a sandwich and bag of cheese/onion rolls (like sausage rolls).
Today I've had toast.0 -
Going to give roasted chickpeas a chance soon. Many people on /r/eatcheapandhealthy recommend it as a snack.0

For tea I had oven chips and half a tin of meatballs in tomato sauce.0

I've been snacking on green olives and pickled onions this afternoon.:APasturesNew wrote: »You can expect about 3-4 months of very bizarre eating going on because I'll be moving and need to eat up everything that's in the freezer
Have you actually found a new place and sold yours now?:)Going to give roasted chickpeas a chance soon. Many people on /r/eatcheapandhealthy recommend it as a snack.
I love them, I usually do curry flavoured or just salt and malt vinegar.:D2025 GOALS

Miserable weather here in West Yorkshire. Been to Morries on the bus: saved a couple of quid by only buying a single ticket.
Yellow sticker: Two wedges 'Beacon Blue' goats cheese, two punnets 'The Best' cherry tomatoes, organic baby spinach, two packs fresh basil, whole sea bream (?sustainable I think?).
Picked up a couple of other ingredients for a bolognese, but could not find celery hearts and forgot to look for higher welfare beef mince! Might head up to the indoor market again tomorrow because there are some decent butchers.
Cobbled together a Keralan coconut curry from bits and bats (jar sauce/ baby corn/ organic spinach/ banana shallots/ chick peas/ ginger/ garlic) with some of the remaining YS whole chicken.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Wednesday my last cat had her thyroid taken out as her levels were difficult to manage and pills twice a day a nightmare, unfortunately I lost her very shortly after due to incident with a car so neither of us got the benefit
Caronc like you my first flat was furnished by the family (there has to be some advantages of a large one) the only new item a washing machine and we brought tables and chairs for £35 which I freecyled after 20 years. I talked one sister into a new cooker another into a new fridge freezer, I wasn't popular with my BILs. :rotfl: I played it forward to nieces and nephews when it was their turn.
Luckily his lordship seems to have had no reaction to his jabs, not sure if last year was a one off or the anti inflammatory/painkiller injections he had as well worked. He's currently still sulking and would prefer to sit on the doorstep rather than trust me not to grab him and take him back, even treats didn't work  he sat there in torrential rain this morning silly b****er
I took the wrong container for breakfast today so rather than overnight oats, yogurt and berries I had stewed apple  not really filling enough. Lunch was quiche and salad and dinner a HM pizza using naan bread, pesto as the base and loads of veggies.
I'm off out now to watch Tolkien with my sister, nephew and a friendLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good evening everyone,
How excitig PN- I mean moving not bizarre food combinations:rotfl:. Have you found your new home yet?
dan958 - roasted chickpeas are gorgeous, well worth making. The only draw back is they are very, very moreish;). I like roasted broad beans too, though find fresh or frozen ones work better than tinned ones.
Yet another good haul Fire Fox, I miss browsing for YS goodies.
New washing machine and cooker my you were spoiled Brambling:rotfl: though assorted parents/grand parents bought us a new bed, fridge freezer and washer/dryer as wedding gifts so can't complain. Before that in rentals, it was the laundrette for me and whatever the landlord provided by way of fridge/cooker (usually not a great deal!). Apart from that everything else was someone's cast offs, including the baby belling cooker - only two rings and a small oven/grill which came from a caravan that was getting refurbished. My mil gave us set of old pots she'd bought in the 1970s as she had bought new and we had them for 14 years before passing them onto a family member in 2002 when we got new ones. They're probably still going strong:eek:.
Today's been reasonably productive, a few things progressed or off of the "to do" list and the next sourdough is in the fridge for it's overnight "think":D. A pot of savoury mince is simmering which has used up the last of a swede, the end of a head of celery, some heading-to-compost mushrooms, onions and carrot. There's a lovely smell wafting through the house.:) I'll had some peas and the few remaining green beans just before I thicken the gravy and nuke some mash then dinner will be good to go. It's pretty cold here this evening, just the weather for comforting bowl food so I'm very much looking forward to it.:)0 -

:grouphug: It's so sad to lose animal friends.:( I have lost quite a few.
My cat had very good blood results luckily, his thyroid is back to normal now.:)2025 GOALS

I should clarify Caronc my sister got the new cooker I got her 15yr old one. I refused to go back to laundrettes
. It's been a while in the family since the request has gone out for castoffs, although both my youngest nephews went off with towels and bedding from me. Luckily my mother never threw anything away and had a loft full of stuff
.
I enjoyed the film Tolkien tonight although a hanky was almost required :cool:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
